It comes as no surprise that in the midst of a flurry of resolutions, we forget the
most significant tasks beneficial to the most important person – ourselves.
We are driven to excel, create, be stylish, witty and full of grace…it can be exhausting.
Along with our financial, health and career goals, it is paramount to set aside the time necessary to refresh our souls, slow down for a moment and indulge in even the smallest of pleasures.
In 2014 I accomplished a goal I had no idea I was striving for. Personal health.
2014 was the year my modified eating habits and stress management
brought my chronic illness into remission.
It is imperative to celebrate each success but to carefully remember, even in our moment of
celebration of the next goal – the next achievement we want to be able to revere in.
As a young woman living with SLE, I am plagued with chronic fatigue, constant pain consistent with an older woman suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis and a few other small things (humor is important!)
I do believe however, that I am not alone in having difficulty in sleeping due to
back pain or remnants of injuries passed. You’re with me aren’t you?
Relax The Back kicked off my ritual of self-care in sending me this Snoozer Body Pillow that provides the most surprising amount of support for the back, head and neck – promoting proper spinal alignment.
Like many others, my Sundays are set aside for self-care. Candles lit, face-mask(s),
soothing yoga session, anything my body and soul is craving at the moment.

So many of us care for others, our families, friends, even in a way, our coworkers or bosses.
Remember to care for yourself first to ensure a more satisfying, well-rounded life.
How do you practice self-care?
