They say that beauty is pain. And for anyone who spends a lot of time trying to find both the right products and the right methods to “get the look,” you know how true that can be.
We devote a lot of time to finding the right everything: moisturizer, mascara and more. We can literally spend hours in front of a mirror trying to get everything perfectly blended, with the reward being that we like what we see when it’s done.
That time spent in front of the mirror is like an investment (or you could think of it as a debit from our life bank), but who wouldn’t accept the chance to get the same results for less investment?
I know I would. So when it comes to ways to save time and work in your beauty regime, though I hate the word “life hack” there are quite a few shortcuts I have in my arsenal to get me out of the door bit faster, without looking less coiffed.
Change Your Methods: Cut Down on Shampooing
By now a large number of you have subscribed to the “no ‘poo” movement, vowing to shampoo less, effectively decreasing the number of times you strip your hair of its natural, protective oils.
Instead, a dry shampoo (whether spray or powder) that works to absorb any extra oils should your hair be the type that can pull it off (less likely for those with finer hair.)
Does It Work? It certainly seems to for many of you. A quick blast in the morning provides a bit of extra volume, saving you a more laborious full blowout 7 days of the week!
Change Your Appliances: Try An Electric Toothbrush
Okay, so this handy timesaver has been around for awhile, and some of us have them. But I personally know a lot of people who do not.
And I have to wonder why. Any dentist or alternative electric toothbrush sources like Toothbrush Best can help you find the best type for your gums and teeth.
Certainly your dentist would take the time to show you how much more effective rotating bristles are in clearing plaque than a manual brush yes?/
Does It Work? Yes! Especially with the right toothpaste, you’ll see almost immediate results.
Changing Your Lifestyle: Get Better Sleep Hygiene
You probably already know you shouldn’t look at your phone or laptop before heading to bed (please pay no mind that I am doing this very thing now.)
Some say it messes with your brain in a serious way, so powering down electronics about 90 minutes before bed is great way to bring your brain to a gentler pace.
Changing the TV brightness to a lower setting and for those with even more significant sensitivities, wearing orange tinted lenses. The latter cancels out blue light, which can be a major deterrent in getting a fitful nights sleep.
The better you sleep, the better for your health, and skin. Thus the less time you may need to spend treating it the next day.
Does It Work? I think you know the answer. Powering down a bit early can encourage you to pickup a hard copy of a new novel, spend time with loved ones, or even make preparations (non screen related) for the next day.
