A bright and healthy smile is one of the most sought after features in the beauty industry. While one can’t be achieved overnight (unless you’re 80% there already), there are some ways you can enhance and ensure your smile continues to look fabulous.
On top of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and regular brushing, below are three techniques to transform the appearance of your teeth.
Invest in the best.
While it can be more convenient to buy any old toothbrush from your local drugstore, the old adage you get what you pay for certainly rings true in this case. While in terms of beauty, we can be tempted to opt for a cheaper option, inexpensive brushes often of an inferior quality and will wear out much quicker.
For the healthiest smile possible think about investing in a top quality electric toothbrush. These are clinically proven to make gums healthier and remove plaque more sufficiently.
The body of the brush is built to last, and you can change the head as often as you like. Just ensure the bristles are not flared or out of shape as this can reduce their effectiveness after a good deal of use.
Alternatively, you could buy a traditional manual brush, but always make sure the bristles are not too coarse. Hard bristled toothbrushes will wear down the enamel on your teeth and even cause your gums to recede and bleed.
As always, ask your dentist for their recommendations on makes and models of toothbrushes that you could try as these are little tips but do not compare to a professional opinion.
Visit the Pros To Do Work.
If you have some hang ups about your smile, carefully consider having some dental work done. With more and more people trying to achieve the perfect smile, the dental industry has a number of procedures and services to help.
These can range from dental implants, braces, tooth removal and professional whitening. Always speak to a dentist or teeth whitening expert to determine which procedures would be right for you.
They should be can talk through your options clearly and discuss any concerns you may have. Dental work is often a long process but with staggering results, so being patient will prove worth the wait.
Don’t Skimp on Your Routine Cleanings
You should ideally be visiting a hygienist every six months for a full cleaning. This deep clean will remove plaque and tartar build up on your teeth and keep your gums healthy and looking their best.
Regular brushing twice a day is ideal. But having these routine cleans could also pinpoint health issues such as oral cancer, tooth decay and high blood pressure.
Finding any of these issues early on is highly beneficial and can be dealt with sooner rather than later. They may even suggest you cut back on red wine, coffee and smoking to reduce for health reasons or should you have significant staining.
Using a combination of these methods and techniques will get you a Hollywood-worthy smile in no time (or as close as is possible!)
The additional time and effort you put in will be worthwhile as you’ll feel more confident and look it. Plus you’ll most likely receive countless compliments on your newly improved smile.

April 10, 2016I don’t go to the dentist nearly as often as I should. I need to rectify that. I do brush twice a day and I use Crest Whitening strips.
