Mother’s Day will be here before you know it, and if you’re anything like me – you love to plan ways to surprise and delight your mother while showing her just how much she is appreciated.
While you can do that by simply spending some extra time with her, getting her a gift may also be something that she’ll appreciate. There are a number of classic Mother’s Day presents that my sister and brother have given my Mum over the years, and there are a number of ways to show your Mum just how special she is. Let’s take a look at three great gift ideas for Mother’s Day.
Flowers/Plants
My mother has the greenest thumb imaginable and nothing makes her happier than having fresh flowers around and a beautifully tended yard with multiple vegetable and flower gardens.
The most traditional Mother’s Day gift has to be flowers, doesn’t it?! Flowers are a great way to show your mother how much she means to you. They come in all different shapes and sizes and they’re simply beautiful to look at. They also smell great, and most mothers will be delighted to receive flowers for any occasion.
Plants are just as popular. Your mother will be able to watch them grow over time, and you’ll be in her mind every time she sees them. Do something outside-the-box as well.
You could take her on a day trip and pick a selection of plants for her. Alternatively, you could buy her a monthly outdoor flowering plant package like orchids of the month. These packages continue all year round, so she’s effectively getting a present every month.
Days out
One of the common gift ideas that has become more popular in recent years is the idea of days out. That’s not just a term for spending a day at the beach. There are gift packages out there that will allow you to go on sports arena tours, drive Ferrari’s and much more.
There’s even the gift of theater, spa days, luxe movie tickets, or you can simply spoil her by taking her out to dinner. You can’t go wrong with any of these ideas. Your mother will surely appreciate the effort that you’re willing to go to, so this is another good one to think about.
Make it personal
If you’re all out of ideas and you just don’t know where to turn, you can always make something yourself. Even if you’re not the artistic type, there’s ways and means of turning a present into something much more personal.
You can engrave gifts online for an extra price, and this might provide the personal touch you need. Make a handmade card that’s full of reasons why you love your mother. If you’re a talented creative, create a piece of artwork for her.
Think of something that you could do to make the occasion more personal between her and you.
There are lots of ways to show your mother how much she means to you. We’ve just touched on a few. If you’re planning to spend the day together, give her all the attention she deserves.
Make the day all about her, and let her feel spoiled for once. I wish you all the success in your search for a present/experience, and have a great day this upcoming Mother’s Day.

April 3, 2016These are great tips! My mom is a very laid back person who doesn’t like much fuss. All she wants is to spend quality time with me, which I personally love to do. I also try to make her feel like the most important person in the world, which she is to me. 🙂

April 10, 2016My mum likes the laid back option. Cuppa in bed, maybe some pancakes, time to read her book, going out to a movie – she’s easy to please, but I do love spoiling her for all she does for us 🙂

April 12, 2016I usually celebrate mothers day partially with my children and grandchildren and the other half is usually for me, where I pamper myself with a hot bubble bath and a glass of wine lol
