I am over the moon that my sister recently became engaged to the wonderful man who has been by her side (and was already very much a part of our family!)
During the holidays, you probably witnessed several engagement announcements (via social media and beyond!)
When it comes to getting engaged, many some couples don’t choose to celebrate their news. However, as my sister’s Maid of Honor, I see hers as a very big deal, and one that deserves to be celebrated.
So how to celebrate? Dinner? Party? Read on for some fun ideas on how to celebrate your engagement (or that of your close friends or family members) and mark the occasion with the fanfare it deserves.
Toast your engagement with friends and family.
If you don’t feel like going the party route, instead opt for drinks with your friends and family instead. While the idea of a full-blown party can seem overwhelming, cocktails or a little bubbly at your favorite bar or lounge is a fun, lower-key alternative.
You can meet with your friends and family, share your engagement story, and have fun celebrating your news and those of the others!
It may be a simple way to celebrate, but having a toast to your engagement is the perfect way to mark this milestone while being able to spend quality time with all of your nearest and dearest.
Go ring shopping together.
If he proposed but is yet to choose a ring as lots of men prefer to pick a one of a kind design together, one of the best ways to celebrate is by going ring shopping.
Make a day of it and head to your nearest city, go from store to store, browsing rings and trying on any that you like before heading to your preferred jeweler.
Don’t rush into selecting a ring, take your time, and you’ll find the perfect one.
If you can’t find a ring that you like, check out beautiful Verragio engagement rings. These rings can be custom made, so whatever style you like, you can get a beautiful ring made.
Have an engagement photoshoot.
What better way to celebrate your engagement than with a special photoshoot? While some may say this is unnecessary or even that you could just take your photos yourself (lol?), if you want good-quality, getting a professional to take them for you is best.
Whenever significant milestones are reached, it seems everyone suddenly wants to give you advice on what you should or shouldn’t do. Just do what’s right for the both of you! So if you want commemorative photos get in touch with a local photographer and arrange an engagement photoshoot for the two of you.
Not only is a professional shoot a fantastic way to mark the occasion, but it will also give you some amazing memories and provide the two of you a way to tell the story of your coupledom – where you met, had your first date etc.
You’ll be able to cherish and treasure the pictures from that day for many years to come.
Take a short trip together.
If you prefer to celebrate just the two of you, how about planning a short trip? If you have a spare weekend, book a room at one of your favorite hotels and spend some one-on-one time together.
Being able to relax together and spend some much-needed quality time together outside of your normal environment is the ideal way to mark your engagement.
To make your trip extra special, why not book a couples massage and incorporate one of your shared interests if the season/weather allows?
If this post is extremely applicable to your life, then congratulations!
The most important thing is you have found a partner that you will be spending the rest of your life with and your partner wants nothing more than to begin forever right now.
