1. I drink water before and after I eat, and I eat slowly. I am typically the last one finished and usually the one with the most left on my plate as a result.
2. Instead of using mayonnaise on my protein/vegetable wraps, I use a small amount of low-fat Italian dressing that provides a lot more flavor and only a fraction of the fat.
3. I drink a wheatgrass smoothie first thing in the morning along with a lot of water.
Wheatgrass is known to cleanse the body of toxins, suppress your appetite and provide you with increased energy. It is without a doubt every dieter’s dream.
My skin is also noticeably brighter when I drink them consistently.
4. I have one cup of black coffee in the morning (totaling about 5 calories) and then add almond milk when I want to have a “treat.”
This is a very easy way to cut down on calories in the morning, especially if you typically use creamer or half-and-half. My almond, rice or soy milk is always unsweetened.
5. After that one coffee and smoothie, I only drink water for the rest of the day. This saves on calories but also lowers your sugar intake (additional sugar only leaves you feeling hungrier in the end and far more tired).
If I feel like I am lagging a bit later in the afternoon, I go for a cup of green tea with nothing added to it.

March 30, 2012While I do drink a lot of coffee each day (with a bit of non-dairy French Vanilla Creamer), I balance it out by drinking loads of water, as well. Additionally, I do Cardio for 40 minutes each day – three days a week; coupled with intense stretching and ballet. 🙂
