Though I received all of the following products in exchange for review,
as always – my thoughts and opinions are unbiased.
Shell & Paramount Tights c/o City Sports |
Living in what is otherwise known as the marathon capital of the United States,
though we may have had a record snowfall this year, you can bet we ran all Winter long.
Despite a diligent running schedule through what was one tough stretch, the flurry of
events and holiday-centric comfort food can allow even a pound or two to creep up.
Beyond recommending cute/colorful workout clothes to inspire you to get yourself to the gym
(if none other than to show them off), here are a few other ways to live healthily
without skipping some of your delicious favorites.
I make it no secret that my major weakness is brunch.
An assortment of egg dishes, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, piping hot waffles topped with fresh fruit
and their accompanying cocktails that make day drinking somewhat acceptable.
After being diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder in 2006, I began to listen to my body.
Paying strict attention to how I felt after eating certain foods and making changes where needed.
Fast forward to today where I manage a gluten-sensitivity and intolerance to dairy.
Nicole’s Naturals was a pleasant surprise, delicious, savory and included a recipe for vegan pancakes.
Prompting me to do something I hadn’t in many months; have breakfast for dinner (more than once!)
Great Low Carb sent over the most generous assortment of low-carb bagels
and breads delicious enough to cure any fit foodies carbohydrate craving.
I am a strong believer in eating healthy without deprivation.
If a modified solution can be found, I will enjoy it.
My recommendations: Garlic Butter, Onion & Everything bagels though the line
extends to paleo/gluten-free granola, soft pretzels, cookies, brownies and more.
One of my biggest hurdles when training can be managing my never-ending hunger
and finding a variety of healthy snacks that are also satisfying for the long haul.
Fit Snack sent a box overflowing with delicious, healthy goodies from quinoa chocolate protein powder, veggie chips, sunflower butter that I enjoyed spread on sliced banana, espresso brownie bites and a great deal more.
Each product always has two or more of the following beneficial attributes; GMO free,
high in protein, low in sugar, gluten-free, organic, raw, vegan and all natural.
Thinking of becoming a Fit Snack member?
You can look forward to the Fit Quarterly publication (chock full of inspiring recipes and workouts),
Fit Music; a workout mix created by one of Hollywood’s hottest DJs and the peace of mind
knowing that for every box Fit Snack ships, they donate one meal to Feeding America.
My last healthy hack?
Be realistic and stop beating yourself up.
As women we feel a great deal of pressure to have that perfect thigh-gap,
twiggy arms and don’t get me started on the midsection.
You are beautiful and the only persons opinion that matters, is your own.
What is one of your healthy hacks?

April 7, 2015Great post! I've struggled with my weight my whole life, and the one thing that has really made the most difference is listening to my body… if something doesn't make my body feel good after I eat it, I don't eat it… I think so many more people would be healthier and happier if they did that. I'm going to have to try some of these foods, I'm always looking for healthier alternatives!
Kisses,
Sarah

April 8, 2015Great post! Definitely time to start thinking about getting in summer shape. I love the idea of Fit Snacks. I find I snack the most on junk because it’s just there and you don’t have to prepare it. A healthier snack option sounds nice!
