While there are those extremely organized, crafty people that will show up to a Halloween party looking pretty smug with something ornate and extremely authentic, I know you’re not those people.
We are all too busy to cobble something together weeks in advance, or let’s keep it 100: far too lazy.
Below are some easy costume ideas that will save you from ridicule, and allow you to save your money for the important things. Like wine.
Last Minute Costume Idea: Barb of Stranger Things
What You Need: Head no further than your nearest thrift store for a ruffled victorian collared blouse, 80s glasses I may or may not have worn at the ripe age of 6, and a curly red wig.
Throw in a Trapper Keeper to tote around all night and you’re good to go!
Last Minute Costume Idea: Rey Skywalker
What You Need:
- Beige capris or cigarette pants
- Sleeveless beige v-neck
- Beige (or gray) infinity scarf, or similarly cut sweater that can cross in the front with extra material hitting around the knee.
- Ace bandages or arm-warmers
- Leather handbag with a longer strap & a leather belt
- Beige or brown boots; Uggs or Bearpaw should do.
- Large wooden stick (most likely a broom or head outdoors to search your yard.)
Feeling a bit more serious about this particular get-up? I hunted down what is being touted the best Rey Skywalker DIY costume tutorial on the internets.
Don’t have the patience but have Amazon Prime? Got you covered here.
Last Minute Costume Idea: Bubble Tea Babe
What You Need:
- Light colored skater dress
- Paper towel roll
- Pink wrapping paper
- Black poms
- A headband
- A glue gun & scissors
Bonus: you’ll need to get a bubble tea while making “for inspiration” and day of “for aesthetic purposes.” Score.
Last Minute Costume Idea: Snapchat Rainbow Filter
What You Need: just a lot of makeup (and a few colors you may not have in your everyday arsenal, or may you do…because you’re a clown…) face paint, and a gentle yet effective cleanser to wipe it all away later.
Extras: the Butterfly Filter & Snapchat Dog more via InStyle UK.
Last Minute Costume Idea: NetFlix & Chill
What You Need: There are so many variations of this going around. Either DIY (like…solo) or you be the Netflix and have your bff be the Chill.
I love these options here, here & here.
Get creative and believe me, no one will be asking what you’re dressed as!
Have a wonderful, safe Halloween I’m on my way to Austin for a food trip (surprise) and leave your Halloween costume in the comments!
