This post was created in partnership with Lantera Boston, however each and every thought below is my own authentic depiction of Boston’s newest luxury apartment building and the experiences it provides.
Dan and I currently live in a beautiful, light-filled space with personalized touches like custom furniture, a completely renovated interior, and private roof-deck. We are happy and fortunate but of course considering a place with more room in the next year.
I recently toured the beautiful new Lantera Boston building located in Boston Landing. Rich with all of the amenities a millennial could wish for, each space I viewed made me consider the most important elements to consider on your next apartment hunt:
Your Personal Health & Wellness
The first area I toured upon arrival was the massive, state-of-the-art gym complete with rowing machines, and every sort of free weight and cardio equipment imaginable.
As if that wasn’t enough, connected to it was a private spin and yoga studio that includes Peloton bikes (with classes provided by Peloton instructors) and classes by New Balance trainers.
When you’re considering a managed building, think about your daily and weekly fitness routine. Does the building include some of the features you’re paying for elsewhere?
How Will You Plan to Entertain?
While it may not be at the forefront of everyones thoughts upon an initial tour, considering where and how you’ll host friends and family in your new space is vital.
Lantera has a multitude of beautiful areas where residents may host — from the large space aptly dubbed the “zen garden,” to an indoor/outdoor space on the 18th floor with an extraordinary grill, firepits, and modern kitchen, to the gorgeous pool deck with private cabanas, a gorgeous 12+ guest dining table, string lights, and a number of top of the line grills.
Consider the themes of afternoon and evening engagements throughout the year and where each would fit in your potential new space.
Professional Pursuits
Beyond your commute, how will your new space accommodate your professional life? Do you work from home and at times require a different space from which to work or collaborate?
Lantera Boston offers both one startlingly grand conference room on the ground floor, and a number of smaller ones with landlines and ideation boards on the third.
If you’re currently in transition, be sure you’re not limiting yourself in a space that will not be ideal should you decide to one day take a remote position or even strike out on your own.
Everyday Conveniences
Many moments of our day go by without us realizing all that has to happen to make them possible. Lantera has anticipated all of the necessary small conveniences like a communal professional grade espresso machine, storage and maintenance area for bikes, and even a pet spa and park.
Perhaps you don’t yet have a pup (but plan to in the next six months) or prefer to enjoy your coffee in a space other than your bed or breakfast nook. Think about your daily routine as granularly as possible and see what each will look like in your potential new apartment.
What Will Your New Neighborhood Offer?
During your free time, how will your neighborhood be enhancing your daily life? Where will you go for the odd dinner out, find cultural fulfillment, or just plain have some much needed fun?
Lantera sits in the heart of Boston Landing across the street from the beautiful Kohi Coffeeshop. A few steps to the left is delicious and modern eatery Rail Stop and just few more steps will bring you to Flatbread Company that offers a fun night with local craft beers on tap, delicious pizza, and bowling.
I hope some of this will be helpful on your next search — I have one more surprise for you.
If you’re interested in Lantera Boston, mention my name (Georgina) prior to your tour and if you sign your lease within 24 hours of your visit at Lantera, you’ll receive one month rent-free, and an additional $500 off.
I’ll be replaying my stories for you all and there is an option to ask questions regarding my experience (so don’t be shy!)
What is one element of your current living space that was a non-negotiable?
