When it comes to health, there are so many different mysteries out there that we’re faced with. Not only do we want our bodies to look and feel good on a day to day basis, but we also want to make sure that they’re healthy on the inside.
It’s not always easy to tell what’s going on with your body, but there can be some tell all signs that something isn’t quite right. One of those is inflammation.
We can suffer from inflammation for some reasons, sometimes even for healing reasons – but it can have long-term negative effects on the body, leaving you stressed, sick, and even causing premature aging.
If you want to work on combatting inflammation, here are five natural remedies to get you started (but please remember, I am not a medical professional so please speak to your designated healthcare provider before implementing any new changes into your diet!)
Ginger & Turmeric
Ginger and turmeric are both spices that can be used to combat inflammation. Ginger is great for reducing an inflamed gut, especially if you’re planning on taking it as a supplement.
Turmeric is also great for cooking. Curcumin is found in its makeup, which is an active ingredient in inflammation reduction. You could also try both topically in skin care.
Fatty Fish
Then there’s also fatty fish to consider. The omega fish oils found in things like salmon and sardines are great for your health all around and not just in terms of inflammation.
Although they are great at reducing inflamed areas, you’ll also find that the omega oils found in fish are great for your skin and your joints too.
If you don’t like fish and struggle to fit it in your diet, you can always take supplements to gain the same benefits and fight off inflammation.
Spinach
We all know that spinach is good for us. It contains a lot of great antioxidants that keep our bodies healthy.
But, those antioxidants are also great for reducing inflammation. In particular, spinach is packed full of carotenoids. You’ll also find that spinach is loaded with Vitamin E – another great tool to have in inflammation-fighting combat.
Garlic & Onions
Most of us use garlic and onions in our cooking on a regular basis. This incredible duo is often used to flavor food, but both have more than just seasoning capabilities under their belts.
Garlic has always been a favorite alternative remedy for sickness namely due to its ability to reduce inflammation. It contains a decent amount of sulfur which help to strengthen your immune system.
Lastly onions come jam packed with quercetin. This is another kind of killer antioxidant that is incredible at fighting inflammation.
Nuts & Seeds
Consider incorporating nuts and seeds a little bit more into your diet. These little guys are full of vitamins. We all know that vitamins are great for our immune system and keeping us healthy, but they can work wonders for inflammation too – especially Vitamin E. And yes, you’ve guessed it, nuts and seeds come loaded with lots of Vitamin E, making them a great choice for fighting off inflammation.
