I am Starting from the Inside Out
We should always be thinking about what we are eating, how much water we’re drinking and if we’re getting consistent supplementary vitamins and minerals.
I typically kick things up a notch when the temperatures rise to ensure my skin is properly hydrated and toxins are flushed away.
I detox and alkalize with a delicious wheatgrass smoothie with a non-dairy base and include a healthy portion of berries into my breakfasts to take advantage of their antioxidants.
I am Going Natural
I was recently provided the opportunity to try products from the new Provence based organic skincare brand: Aixallia.
Let’s be honest here; I am very concerned about what I put on my skin in regards to chemicals and parabens and very much subscribe to the notion that when it comes to beauty, the French do it best.
What’s even better is now the French are doing it the best organically. Created with ultra-pure water, organic essential oils from the South of France, locally harvested, organic French Mediterranean botanicals (being ECOCERT French organic certified), Aixallia donates 1% of their net product sales revenue to CharityWater.org
I am Trying Something New
In the beautiful package Aixallia sent was their own Micellar water; a five plants emulsifying make-up remover that cleanses, tones, clarifies and has anti-aging properties.
A bit new to the micellar water trend, when I originally learned of it, I was under the impression people were now buying bottles of “special” water to cleanse their faces with instead of that from the regular old tap (how wasteful I thought!)
Well let’s just say I have since changed my tune. This bottle has transformed my skin and is an easy step before bed to ensure every bit of makeup and the days residue is gone. Gentle (I don’t do foaming cleansers, nor do most French women) enough for both morning and eve.
I am Focusing on Essentials
I am a proud 30 year old lady so keeping this glow is of the utmost priority and a lot of that has to do with my day and night cream.
So you know I was excited to try Aixallia’s Green Tea Protective Day Cream that is rich enough to maintain my skins supple state after a sheet mask and light enough to get me through the day without that unwanted sheen.
Even more excited as I have a slight obsession with lavender was their Lavender Soothing Night Cream. It is heavenly and there is never an evening I miss an application.
There is no quick fix to perfect, young skin but after maintaining a strict regimen with my new products, I am noticing some very exciting new developments in my skin.
Less tired for one thing and as most of you do just as much as I do, that is a near miracle. I am excited to see what the next week brings, and the one thereafter (I’ll keep you updated!)
I am Leaving Behind Dead Weight
I always exfoliate in the evening but in the Summer months it may be even more important that you’re exfoliating your skin at night time to give it a bit of extra time to repair and regenerate before heading into the sun’s harmful rays.
I have been enjoying Aixallia’s coconut and calendula exfoliating shower gel, paying special attention to my elbows and knees using it almost every other night to get my skin beach ready.
I am Lightening Up
Consider putting away that black eyeliner and mascara away during the summer, opting instead for deep browns that provide a more natural look.
Go a few shades lighter with your lipstick with playful pinks to add life to your little white dresses and flirty florals.
Stay away from thick foundations in the summer; make use of your mineral blush and bronzer instead.
I am Paying Extra Care to my Feet
Getting out the sandals in June means we are going to be showing off our toes. Though you may have been getting those pedicures all throughout Winter and Spring, a little extra TLC may be necessary before nestling those babies into the sand.
I love to get one extra luxe pedicure that focuses on exfoliation and deep hydration.
Go for summery colors and something versatile which will go with the outfits you will wear for the week. Restock your collection with a few new colors from sites like www.beautyplussalon.com.
Lastly…
It goes without saying that you need to keep your skin safe in the summer as it’s more at risk of getting burned and permanently damaged in the sun.
When you’re going to be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time, don’t rely solely on your tinted moisturizer that has a piddly 15 SPF.
Use a product that focuses solely on sun protection and apply it frequently. As we previously discussed here, it’s so important to protect your skin in the sun as exposure to UV rays can accelerate the aging process.
Don’t forget to switch to your Summer primer, as your skin will require something completely different during warmer months (most likely something with mattifying properties.)
Aixallia is providing you all 20% off your first order with them (use code Blog20 at checkout), so go get yourself Summer ready and enjoy the weekend!

June 12, 2016I have never heard of these products but they seem awesome. I think there are so many important things to do for your skin- I need to focus on the inside first at this point.. my eating habits aren’t the best. 🙂

June 13, 2016You are so right. Everything we eat affects us inside and outside of we are not toxic inside, why would we put toxins outside?? From what we wear to what we apply. The French have it going on. I just read that Americans are starving. That’s part of the reason we consume so much. The other part is we live to eat, not eat to live. Our soil has depleted everything planted by 30%. So if you think about that. You need much more fruit and veggies to survive. I’m convinced organic raw is the way to go. Juicing is also amazing.
