Bloggers lives can seem to be made up solely of pretty spaces and faces about 98% of the time.
In reality, things are truly only glam about 8% of the time (with 7% of it being staged) while the rest of the time we gratefully slip our flats and lounge-pants back on.
I thought it would be fun to share a few facts that show how un-glamorous my life is.

Writing is and will always be my first love but I work full-time at an
engineering firm that specializes in nuclear engineering.
At least once a day I am astounded by just how fortunate I truly am.
I do not see that ever changing.

My vices are beautiful bags, brunching al fresco, blowouts, fruity/chewy candy,
episodes of Real Housewives Anywhere and great music (to name a few!)
When I was young I made a “vision book” out of a Moleskine instead of a
vision board because I had so many dreams they did not fit on one board.
Several years later while flipping through it I was struck not only by how many things I had achieved and attained, but most importantly the ones I could now see truly mattered.

I never grew up dreaming about my fantasy wedding or prince charming.
Even now, I feel comfort in confidently doing anything and everything on my own (even dining!)
I would rather be well liked and respected by a small few than known by many.

I am so thankful for each and every one of you that visits my blog, whether you
leave a comment or not. Thank you, you are a part of my dreams that are coming true.
Tell me a fact about yourself if you dare!

June 9, 2014I agree about preferring a quaity few friends than many not as true. It is a lesson I learned only recently though.

Amy {Cupcakes+Couture}
June 9, 2014ahhh, this is so true. i think many of us bloggers (and those who follow bloggers) often compare ourselves to the top bloggers who have "made it" – their lives seem absolutely perfect and flawless. their outfits, apartments, parties…they all look like they were pulled right from a perfect pinterest board. like you, sometimes i have to take a step back and stop comparing myself or trying to be perfect, and instead realizing all of the little (and big) milestones i've reached and achievements i've made!! π

June 12, 2014Your words could not be more true Amy! It is so much more productive to compare ourselves to our former self and see how far we come. Potentially use other as a source of inspiration (healthily!) xo
