While we were hosted during our stay in Quechee Lakes,
all of the below is an accurate portrayal of our experience.
Vermont is one of my favorite places to head for a New England weekend getaway (it was my first trip with Dan!)
Recently we celebrated a wonderful friends-giving catered by Artisan Eats in Quechee Lakes with our dear from Matt of SimkoSays.com and spent the rest of the weekend exploring in town, brunching and shopping at Simon Pearce and so much more.
We stayed in beautiful modern farmhouses (see and even book them here) equipped with every modern luxury imaginable (yes of course there are fireplaces) within close proximity to all of the major ski mountains and just over a two hour drive from Boston.
Artisan Eats created the most incredible spread for the group starting with a lovely charcuterie spread with cheeses from Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co.
Each of us created one dish (Dan the kale salad, Dave the cranberry sauce, Matt the brussel sprouts, and I of course mulled the wine).
All of the beautiful glassware on the the table and bar are Simon Pearce, Harpoon generously provided delicious seasonal brews and Silo Distillery & Putney Mountain Winery stocked our beautiful bar.
With our bellies full and hearts equally so, we chatted about the original trip we took to Vermont that brought us to so many others and has lead to such a beautiful friendship (and marriage!)
Tucked under the plush blankets flanking the couches and chairs, we played games into the wee morning hours.
The next day led us to exploring the exquisite Simon Pearce flagship store and touring the area downstairs where each beautiful piece is created.
Following our tour, we had one of the best meals I have ever had in Vermont (the service was impeccable) and I loved that next to each cocktail listed the glassware it came in — just in case you wanted to bring a set home.
There are endless sights while in Quechee and spots for the foodies, beer enthusiasts, and athletes alike (head to the Quechee Club for a swim or satisfying workout!)
We look forward to our return later in the season to spend a bit of time on the slopes.
