Though my stay, meals, and services were provided at no charge, the following account of my experience is wholly unbiased and most likely far too verbose.
By now, you are well aware of how much I love a staycation (if this staycation guide, and this one weren’t evidence enough.)
This time I’m bringing you along with me to Aloft in Boston’s burgeoning Seaport district.
Almost directly across from Lawn on D, less than a mile from the Institute of Contemporary Art, and just blocks from some of our newest restaurants, Aloft sits on prime Boston real estate.
Upon arrival Aloft Boston Seaport’s vibrant lobby welcomes you, while the almost overwhelming variety of activities will have you dragging your feet when check-out time looms near.
Live music by local artists in the evening (via intimate Live at Aloft performances), a saline indoor pool, generous gym, and array of pool tables provide options aplenty before even setting foot outside.
Aloft voice-activated rooms maintain the lively colors and modern amenities offered elsewhere on the premises, while providing a fun, interactive experience for guests.
Each room is equipped with “Hey Siri,” allowing you to change everything from lighting, music, to temperature and more with just a word or two after programming the in-room iPad.
This comes as no surprise as Aloft Hotels remains on the cusp of innovation within the hospitality industry.
Having been the first to hire the world’s first robotic butler (Botlr) which is currently employed in their Santa Clara property, the ability for travelers to use their phone as a room key, and even launching the world’s first emoji-only room service menu.
After settling in, we headed to nearby Bastille Kitchen for a sumptuous French feast in a beautiful chalet-like setting.
Complete with a never-ending wine list (though pro tip: they make incredible dirty-martinis and yes, they have blue-cheese stuffed olives), I recommend starting your evening with a basket of warm croissants and fresh butter.
We began with the Butternut Squash Bisque, complete with crème fraîche, candied apple, and seasonally appropriate pumpkin seeds before moving onto my favorite Frisée Aux Lardons salad (think: north country bacon, poached egg, sherry vinaigrette, and beluga lentils. Not a shabby salad hm?)
Next were the seared scallops with english peas, morel mushrooms, and charred creamed corn, finishing out our entrees with the Prime Skirt Steak Frites, topped with bastille butter, béarnaise, and delectable fries.
Also notable, the mussels, escargots (not always available, this time they weren’t on the menu) and their black truffle flatbread.
Though we were stuffed and begged off from dessert, we were treated to Profiteroles (salted caramel chip gelato, hazelnut gianduja, with warm chocolate sauce) and the Crème Brulée (madagascar vanilla beans, and beautiful old fashioned macaroons.)
Beyond satiated, we decided to walk back to Aloft along with a multitude of Bostonians out doing the same.
Last but certainly not least, after sleeping in, we were fortunate to have two massage therapists provide a relaxing ensuite couples massage via Zeel!
Zeel is the first mobile massage on demand company, with over 7,000 therapists.
Whether if you’re looking to treat your team at the office, are in need of relaxation for an unexpected free afternoon, or provide an unexpected extra at your next event, the Zeel app makes booking (and coordinating) your massage seamless.
Download the app, and have a massage therapist arrive (with their own table) within the hour.
Hoping to book one of your own? Use code NOTEDLIFE for $25 off your first Zeel Massage!
A massive thank you to the Aloft team for such a wonderful experience, Bastille for an unforgettable meal, and Zeel for the much needed relaxation.
If I haven’t convinced you of how much you deserve a staycation, I just may have another up my sleeve!
