website. According to their website, Newtown Youth and Family Services,
Inc. is a “licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth
services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their
highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities,
counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown

by the school shooting. You can find their website here.
Many bloggers have Etsy shops or businesses and have expressed a
desire to donate some profits from sales on Friday, December 21 to this
organization or others to help the victims, their families, and the
community. The following is a list of such businesses. If you own a shop
and would like to contribute some of your profits on Friday, December
21, please add your link to the list. I will put the list in my post on
Friday, and make it available to anyone who wishes to also put it in
their post

I love the blogging community for so many reasons but the most important being
how quickly everyone comes together in the wake of a tragedy.
I am already hosting an upcoming Cocktails & Cookies cookie swap so when
I caught wind of the events taking place on Friday, December 21st I knew
I could easily move up some of my preparation to participate.
Here are some ways we are showing support,
donating and spreading the word:
1. On Friday write a post sharing a cookie, craft or anything in tribute to
Sandy Hook Elementary School. There are no requirements beyond that, just
do something to show your support.
2. Spread the word about this united effort wherever and whenever you can.
Use the hashtag #BloggersforSandyHook.
3. We are donating to the Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc.
It is a licensed non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau
dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential.
All donations made to them are going to go back to those affected by the shooting.
4. Bloggers that are also Etsy shop or business owners have also expressed a
desire to donate some profits from sales on December 21st. If you would like
to contribute please add your link to this list. Together we can help.
Every bit helps and I think it is incredibly important that the people of
Sandy Hook know that the nation is behind them in mourning their
loss and aiding in a communities rehabilitation after such a traumatic event.

December 16, 2012Thanks for inviting me to participate. I actually have had a few crafts that I want to try out, so this will be a wonderful day to try them. If you're interested tomorrow we'll be doing a blogger day of silence for the Sandy Hook victims. Here's the link to my post. Spread the word.

December 18, 2012Will the cookies/crafts be sent to the families or is it just something to do at home in their honor? I definitely participate and send a donation to the Newtown Youth and Family Services center.
