Consider Sundays re-invented! If enjoying mimosas and dancing with your friends is your version of ‘going to church’ every weekend, consider Heather White and her Trillfit team the new Holy Trinity.
Don’t let the 10 a.m. start fool you either. The Hotel Commonwealth was transformed into a club for Trillfit’s ‘Burn+Brunch’ workout event last Sunday.
With alternating colored lights, massive gold balloons, and Drake and Beyoncé pouring out of the speakers, this was not your run of the mill YMCA Zumba class.
Even though Dragon and Twisted Mermaid are normally the names of drinks you have on the weekend, for Lady Dork they are the yoga moves that flow perfectly to the beat of Flo Rida.
A combination between Gandhi and Rihanna, Lady Dork opened the event with a vinyasa-styled yoga session.
Her workout teaching style..
Gave the normally slower activity a fun and upbeat twist. Luckily, the vibes didn’t end at Namaste, and after the class waiters emerged from the conference room doors carrying mimosas.
Instructor Melisa Valdez was up next, and even though I had been lying in bed two hours earlier, she was able to awaken my inner Shakira.
Without the often creepy on-lookers and overpriced coat check, this morning workout class was the perfect girl’s night day out experience!
Squats were replaced with rapid twerking…
Jumping jacks were replaced with fist bumping and high knees. It felt good to finally leave a workout smiling, instead of with a pulled muscle and death wish on the instructor.
Once all the hard work was done, all the attendees were rewarded with egg white and gruyere breakfast sandwiches, a trail mix bar, goody bag, and of course MORE MIMOSAS.
Selfies were snapped and glasses clinked, and the entire event proved itself to be the ultimate day party!
