Editor’s Note: I met Lauren (the founder of Branchfood) while speaking on a General Assembly panel for Boston Digital Foodies.
Lauren’s organization is a collection of food startups all focused on highlighting initiatives within the food industry through innovation, events and creating a digital presence.
Her aim is to aggregate some of the best resources for food entrepreneurs to aid them in growing their businesses.
Branchfood recently held Amplify Boston at Render Coffee in Downtown Crossing to showcase some of the areas most innovative food businesses.
Below is is just a taste of the many wonderful brands and their products in attendance:
Created by two Northeastern University undergraduate students Johnny and Ali (and started in their dorms), the two students decided to combine two of their most important morning needs; breakfast and caffeine.
Not only do the bars contain the equivalent of one cup of coffee, their origins are derived in partnership with The Chain Collaborative ensuring fair trade, aiding Nicaraguan children in continuing their education and preventing child labor.
These convenient bars come in three delicious flavors, Mocha Latte, Coconut Mocha, and Caramel Macchiato that will keep you going all day and ensure you’re awake while feeling good as they’re 100% organic, vegan, and gluten free.
Archer Roose
Archer Roose is innovating the wine industry by offering artisan quality wine in a box.
The company has re-imagined their supply chain to bring their product to the consumer at a more affordable price.
Their current selection, a Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc, are all sustainably sourced from Chile and brimming with character.
Minus the Moo
Minus the Moo is creating a premium lactose-free ice cream that anyone can enjoy.
It’s made with local New England dairy using a custom ice cream blend that’s free of additives and chemicals.
They offer flavors like Salted Chocolate Chip, Espresso, Madagascar Vanilla and more.
Minus the Moo makes for a great treat even if you’re not lactose intolerant!
EHChocolatier
Named “Best Chocolate in the US” by Food and Wine Magazine, EHChocolatier is creating unique and delicious confections in Somerville, Massachusetts.
Their bonbons range from Caramelized White Chocolate bars to Rochers (chocolate covered caramelized corn flakes), all handcrafted with care.
They even have a chocolate club where they send you different pieces each month to try, sign me up!
Those were just a few of the many great products on display that evening but below are more of the businesses that participated in the event and be sure to check out Branchfood’s own recap of the event here.
