I absolutely love getting dressed up for all of the events that the festive season has to offer,
so today I thought I’d share my top festive fashion tips with you.
Choose a LWD Instead of a LBD
When struggling with what to wear, most women go for the LBD, affectionately known as the ‘little black dress’. As I like to go against the norm; I go for a LWD; or ‘little white dress.’ The LWD looks gorgeous during the festive season, and will help you to stand out even though it’s fairly plain.
Think of snow, ice, and other wintery things: they’re all white.
You’ll look as beautiful and unique in a sea of LBD’s if you wear a LWD for a change.
Embrace Masculine Styles
If you have not yet tried masculine styling outside of boyfriend jeans; you are definitely missing out. Not only is it way more comfortable than a dress (meaning you can party on the event for hours), you can bet nobody else will be wearing the same thing.
Wear a tailored suit, but to make it look a bit more feminine you could pair it with a bralet.
The perfect mix of feminine and masculine.
Wear a Statement Coat
These days, your coat isn’t something that you want to hand in to the coat check. Your outerwear is as much a part of your outfit as anything else, so make sure it shows!
Wear a statement coat that compliments your outfit so that you turn heads.
There are some gorgeous block color styles and leopard print styles around today that I love.
Statement coats look gorgeous even if you’re just out shopping.
Make an Ugly Sweater Your Best Friend
The ugly sweater; you either love it or you hate it. I for one love it! It eliminates the worry of not having anything to wear. If I’m ever in doubt during December, I just throw a cute Christmas yet not overly hideous on for instant festive chic. I like to wear mine with a pair of simple leggings or tights and my favorite boots.
Don’t forgetting a chunky scarf; you don’t want to catch a cold this close to Christmas.
Feathers and Faux Fur are a Must
Feathers and faux fur are a must this year. Party dresses are being made lined with this it in efrom Forever21, Zara and more.
Feathers and fur give texture to any outfit, and can make something plain look luxurious.
Make sure you’re buying faux (for whichever reason, ethical and/or price point.)
Experiment With Your Look
What better time to experiment with your look than the festive season?
Try a new hairstyle, hair color, or shade of lipstick.
I sometimes like to apply a colored mascara to change my makeup look, or if I’m going to a party
I think glitter eyeliner can look pretty. Break out of your comfort zone and try something new!
So there are some of my top festive fashion tips.
What did you think? Will you use any this year? Let me know you thoughts.

December 12, 2014Definitely can’t go wrong with red for the holidays! I always try to add a little extra sparkle. I’m a big “saver” as in I buy special things and I always hoard them in my closet for a special occasion. Well the holidays call for wearing the special items!
