When it comes to resolutions or as I like to call them lifestyle changes
I hate to be anything near typical.
So when I made a promise to myself to spend more time in the kitchen
creating healthy meals – I knew January 1st would not be the time to start.
The recent purchase of a bluetooth keyboard for my iPad has made things
incredibly easy, especially using the Epicurious App to find recipes.
I began simply, with a wonderful piece of steak.
First patted with a small amount of olive oil.
Then drizzled in a tenderizing amount of balsamic, rubbed with a Montreal
seasoning and garnished with finely chopped onions for flavor.
Next came the mushrooms. I love mushrooms an inordinate amount and these
were prepared similarly to the steak. A small amount of olive oil & seasoning.
I then pan-seared the steak on each side (it is important to make no cuts in the
meat at anytime during the entire cooking period) before placing it under the broiler.
Finally, while the steak was in its final minutes, I sliced and seasoned some lovely vine-ripened tomatoes.
I love fresh tomatoes whenever, wherever, with whatever.
It was a bit more done than I would have liked but incredibly tasty nonetheless.
A few people asked about my dishware and I thought I would comment that it
is from one of Cynthia Rowley’s collections. I found it at TJ Maxx!
Happy Friday Everyone
