My saving grace this morning after Thursday night shenanigans.
May we talk about my life please?
Yesterday I was notified that I won an all expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas.
For myself and three friends. Oh. Okay. Forgot about that little contest…
Not only that but this week (besides the tiniest snafu ever) was the best.
Besides finding the place of my dreams, I had my first in depth planning session
with my editor and spent qt with some truly amazing people last night.
Being the completely aware slightly clueless and uncool blogger that I am,
I haven’t been paying attention to the fact that it is restaurant week.
So in planning a last minute drinks to-do with a few coworkers, I realized
we may just have to stand or wait a long time. Of course, we didn’t.
We went to one of my local favorites Bokx109 American Prime – the only
suburban restaurant/hotel with a pool-deck and cabanas in the area.
I delicately snacked on went to town on the Bokx Truffle Fries (made in
duck fat with truffle ketchup and garlic aioli) and Buffalo Chicken Rangoons
(with pickled carrot and blue cheese cream.)
In the mood for a refreshing drink that sneakily lacks any trace of alcohol?
Then their Iced Tea cocktail (the name, I cannot remember) is for you.
Firefly’s Gorgonzola Chicken Salad with field greens, chunks of Granny Smith
apples, carmelized pecans, gorgonzola and a light balsamic atop
parmesan crusted flat-bread. It was gone, quickly.
Breakfast at The Boston Harbor Hotel: poached eggs (with a bit of
homemade hollandaise sauce,) sausage and the most amazing home fries.
I have to be honest with you, this post was a bit hard to make because I was
attempting to do so while eating a kielbasa, egg and cheese bagel breakfast
sandwich.
Last night was pretty amazing. After leaving my work friends I attempted to find
the location of a beauty event. The address had been sent only the day prior and
the street signs – either nowhere to be found or quite hidden.
Needless to say, after a little bit of a ticket (kind of…) and lots of turning around and
around I gave up and went home to get my BB charger.
I then met up with Jen & Kerrie at The Liberty Hotel for a little fashion, drinks and
dancing (of course.) We ended up chatting with the most hilarious young man
I have ever encountered and his equally funny hair-stylist of a boyfriend.
From there we were introduced to a talented jewelry designer (I cannot wait to
order a piece and showcase it here – it is amazing,) a few Irishmen with
authentic brogues and group of financiers.
Entrance onto the patio was quite limited but yours truly was handed a pass by
a nice guy that wanted to make a girl smile. The night was pretty perfect.
This weekend? Bbqing, dancing/drinking, brunching and
perusing farmer’s markets.
What are you up to!? It’s going to be gorgeous.
