Delicious, flavorful and surprising light! Also, great service!
After a fun event (details to come) in the South End, my friends and I decided
to head to nearby Coppa. Dubbed an enoteca, the tapas style Italian eatery is
owned by Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette (yes, also notorious for Toro.)
Having begun my first day of intense training and clean eating, I promised myself
I would go light on the carbs and attempt to select something raw and no wine.
One out of three isn’t bad is it?
Starting with soft bread & savory olive oil
snack on olives and could not resist sampling the Olive con Finocchio Stuzzichini.
A delightful mix of olives, fennel and roasted garlic.
We had a wonderful time and have already made plans to return soon.
Thank you Jamie!
On another note..
A wonderful thing about being a lifestyle blogger (who incorporates food a lot)
is that from time to time friends ask me to taste their creations.
Thankfully one of the talented women that asks me to do so somewhat regularly
is truly a fantastic cook. Otherwise, giving feedback would be a bit awkward.
The woman I am referring to is named Brigit and she is the sweet wife of one of my
coworkers. Last week he was sent into work with an extra piece of pie. For me.
This peach pie was unlike any other that I have had before and I have had
a lot of pie (include from scratch slices from Amish Pennsylvannia)
and they don’t mess around with pie. Or their buggies.
Having sampled numerous baked goods by Brigit I was SO excited to hear
that I would be having pie-time (around 3pm) that day in the office.
It turns out, she is thinking about launching a bakery (which she needs to
like yesterday) and wanted an honest review. Homegirl can cook!
I will notify you when she launches her company – stay tuned!
Lastly, I’d like to mention a wonderful bartender my friend and I encountered
at La Carreta in Framingham. Rich, you are fantastic, knowledgeable and
a wonderful addition behind the bar. We will be back soon!!

September 15, 2012Those tomatoes were incredible, I only wish I weren't on such a strict diet or I would have ordered a great deal more (it was also fairly late!)
