Fraiche Friday: Recent Eats

 

 

 

 

 Friday’s always used to be about food in these parts on this blog.

I love dining at a new restaurant as “research” or “work.”

 

 Most recently, I had lunch at The Pantry, located conveniently near my office.

 

 Everyone is brought a conical basket of popcorn as a complimentary starter 

and the table water is placed in a glass milk bottle-esque container.

 

 I started my tasting with the Warm Brie: a sliced french baguette served with mushroom ragout and a balsamic glaze. It was quite heavenly and to be candid – I ate almost every bit.

 

 

 

 

I selected the  Italian Sausage & Cherry Pepper flatbread for my main dish.

It was rather spicy and though not the best flatbread I have tasted to date, it was adequate.

 

I also stopped by the recently opened Smashburger in Natick. 

I was quite content with how clean the place is and who foolproof the ordering process is.

Many of the options are healthy (grilled chicken, vegetables, sweet potato fries et al) but I enjoyed the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger and an order of the Smash Fries (they’re sprinkled with rosemary and delectable!)

Both were perfect, served at the ideal temperature and delivered to my table shortly after I ordered. 

I was even checked on mid-meal by an employee who insisted on clearing my tray when I finished.
