So I eat at Panera kind of frequently. And when I say kind of, I mean I am forever
receiving alerts of free pastries and discounts on my handy dandy “My Panera” card.
Does Panera have some kind of VIP black card?
If so I should qualify.
When I heard Panera was doing pasta, I ordered it the day after it came out.
I had high hopes for the Rustic Penne Bolognese.
Alas, they were dashed as perhaps I should have waited for Panera to receive
feedback and then tinker with the recipe a bit. No bueno yet.
Of course I had ordered something else just in case the pasta
did not quite to hit the spot.
Post-work drinks at Verve’s Violet Thorn Lounge, mine on the left.
Feeling impulsively courageous, I chose a cocktail that actually has an
egg white in it. Bad choice Georgina.
After watching me take several tentative sips, my friend quickly flagged down
our waitress to get me something else. I tried…
Lunch at Uncle Cheung’s which is close to my office yet
positioned almost directly across from one of my favorite Chinese spots.
Starter soup. Delish.
General Gau’s: placed amid a generous helping of sauce for dipping (a plus in my book)
I was not disappointed by any means.
Fried rice & egg roll on the side. The rice was pretty darn tasty.
Emerald Chicken. It had a great spicy kick while still being savory,
the chicken was tender, vegetables firm. Nice.
I recently ordered from a local Brazilian Bbq Eatery; The Tropical Cafe.
Sampling the meat pastry above, a generous cut of steak (eaten too promptly
for a photo), a side of fantastic rice and beans plus salad and a dessert of
passion fruit mousse… I have to say I was impressed.
That food was good! I use Foodler for delivery from various nearby restaurants
which is incredibly convenient. I will definitely be ordering from them again.
NB: I did not eat all of this in one week.
I have not done a Fraiche Friday post for some time so the food
photos have been quietly accumulating.

April 6, 2013Biennial bag all the way. My coworker received the bag last year in the beige or tan color, and I saw it in black. I had to have it. Of course, I realized the shape might have been a little bit small for me. I love Panera for the simple fact that they are one of few places that can make a smoothie without a dairy base, the staff on Boylston know that when I stop in "Plain Bagel toasted well with two peanut butters and two orange juices is my breakfast"….always a nice touch
