I was coached on the
correct method in which to taste beer by my plus one.
Interested in knowing as
well?
well?
- Smell for hoppy notes.
-
Take first sip encouraging the beer
towards the tip of your tongue.
-
Take a second sip, holding it this time
instead towards the back of your tongue
to experience the full bouquet of the
beer.
We were plied with numerous
appetizers like plantains & salsa, goat cheese quesadillas, taquitos and homemade tortillas with
incredibly spicy salsa.

The salsa was green and many of us mistook it for guacamole
and ended up foolishly and rapidly requesting large glasses of water (pink straw) and fanning ourselves (lol.)

Our first beers were the Six Dollar Shredder which had fruity notes
and then a more bitter Tramp Stamp (sorry for the profanity, that’s actually
what it was called!)

Moving on were
fish tacos in a soft tortilla (I did not partake as I am not partial to
seafood) which was paired with a delicious Alegash White, one of my favorite
beers.
I may have
been a tad bit tipsy by then….

Overall the event was
well-received, that was actually the day I met Elissa from Style-Wire. She told
me about a Salvation Army down the street which led to some impromptu thrifting.

She found a gorgeous like-new Celine sweater and I left with a cheery
Lilly Pulitzer linen coverup and Cynthia Rowley sweater.

April 28, 2013Oh how fun! I don't particularly like beer, but am always up for beer or wine tasting events. π I figure one of these days I might find one I actually like. lol
My favorite meal was shared with my fellow DFW Bloggers last night. We had a blast (the food was so-so, but the company was amazing!) π
