I’ve come to the realization that in my never-ending quest to “get organized,” the problem is not method, rather one self-sabotaging action itself. Each time I get a bit more organized, hang about 30 more pieces on their rack or neatly folded in their designated nook, I go out and buy more pieces. Said sabotage also applies to all makeup and beauty products.
My housemate got me a plastic desk/counter organizer you see all of the makeup artists using to organize their things in fun ways. My thought this morning was that I would finally put it to good use. It was then I remembered the spree at MAC I had a few weeks ago that included a new brush kit, glosses galore, mineralize powder, two cosmetic bags on top of the drugstore buys I tried for review and Nordstrom nuggets I felt I could not live without.
There is no way that organizer (though substantial in size and potential) will now house all that is cluttering my desk, even with much of my makeup in my travel train case. I’m not sure if this realization relieves me or makes me even more exasperated.
I do feel better about one thing. After my doughnut binge, I made the choice this morning to have an apple and granola bar to get myself back on my routine healthy wagon. I also just downloaded InstaPhoto, Blackberry’s version of InstaGram to play with photos potentially to be used on my blog. How do you feel I did on the one above?
