With the upcoming holidays rapidly approaching, I have been pinning recipes left and right to make “practice” batches before the final test the day of.
Recently I was asked by STAR, the creator of a variety of Olive Oils suitable for vegetables (Arbequina), fish, poultry (Hojiblanca), lamb and beef (Picual), to take a look at their product, I knew it would be a great idea to incorporate into my holiday baking!
I am thoroughly a proponent for a healthy lifestyle, through and through.
So any opportunity I can take to substitute a product that is a great deal healthier is a win.
I love that STAR oils are 100% natural, free of Trans Fat, Cholesterol,
Sodium, Preservatives while also being gluten-free!

It actually took me two batches to get the cake right (tip: use an ice cream scoop leveled off with a dull knife to get a flat bottom and almost perfectly circular top.)
No food bloggers actually ever show the first batch right?
STAR is giving away 5 sets of Usage Pairing Extra Virgin Olive Oils on their Facebook Page!

November 16, 2013I think pumpkin flavored whoopie pies sound delicious. You're brave to experiment with a recipe like that. I'm always afraid to tweak recipes when I'm baking because everything seems so much more precise and purposeful than when simply cooking. That pink Cuisinart mixer is amazing!!

November 18, 2013It was a bit brave, but only because I knew no one would be eating them but me lol! I love my mixer too 🙂
