Are you sick and tired of looking around your home, only to feel bored by what you see? Maybe you’ve had the same sort of decor for a while, or you just want to change your home’s look with the seasons.
Whatever your reasons for wanting a change, I have some tips that can help you! Here are 7 tips to make your home much more stylish:
Don’t Be Afraid to Mix Styles of Furniture
I know most people like to buy matching sets when purchasing their furniture, and this does look great sometimes. However, it could look so much better if you just explored the option of mixing up different styles of furniture. Your furniture doesn’t have to be a matching set for your room to look good, I find it can look better if you have odd bits of furniture. You can tie them together with colours or size if you like. They don’t have to be completely different if you feel uncomfortable doing that. Just get creative!
Use Larger Accessories in Smaller Rooms
So many people think that because a room is small, you need to decorate with small accessories to match. If you do this, you could be visually cluttering up the space! A few big accessories in a small room might take up more space than a bunch of small ones, but they will enhance the room and give it an overall better look. For example, rather than having groupings of small sculptures, have one large sculpture.
Get Creative With Your Textures
I love including texture in my home decor. It gives the place way more depth and makes it look professionally put together! Get creative with your textures. Add textures in the form of rugs, pillows, throws, and even your wallpaper.
Create a Contrast With Nature
Creating contrast in different rooms in the home is a quick way to make it look more stylish. If you have a polished looking black and white bathroom, for instance, imagine how amazing a green potted plant could look? Creating contrast with nature makes any room look better.
Open Up Rooms With New Doors
Maybe you could consider opening up some of your rooms by changing your style of door. Having open plan rooms is great, but you don’t always get privacy. By choosing bi fold style doors, you can open up a room and have privacy when you need to. Plus there are all kinds of customizable systems to suit you.
Create a Unique Feature Wall
I just love having a feature wall or two in the home, and they’re not difficult to create either! You can simply use a colorful pot of paint on a large wall, if you like. If you want to spend more time on it, you could use tiling or create a mural.
Pay Attention to Smaller Details
Paying attention to the smaller details, as small as the drink coasters you use, could give you extra style points. Have an eye for detail in your home!
What are some ways you personalize your home and insert your own style into its decor?
