Something that never ceases to puzzle me is judgment. The belief someone has toward someone else, that is usually misguided and almost always elevates the person judging.
Why do people feel the need to exalt one career over another, one deserving of the title “White Collar” while the other is left with a humble blue?
Growing up my father was a hard-working business owner in a blue-collar industry. He received flack from everyone for his profession, from friends even family. Yet looking back on my childhood he worked 6-7 days a week consistently to provide the best for his children.
In a society where those grooming our future leaders make less than those that entertain us, nothing truly surprises me. However it does not cease to sadden me.
Whenever someone provides an almost apologetic explanation before confessing something about themselves, the first thing I respond with is: “I am nowhere near perfect, therefore in no position to judge.”
Its the truth. Yet we judge every day. By the clothes one wears, car driven, occupation, salary. When the most important attribute is a persons character.
Yet having judged someone on so many things before they have even a word escape their mouth, we haven’t been privy to an ounce of their true personality.
