When I began blogging I had no idea where it would take me.
All I knew was I needed a creative outlet, a chance for my writing
to be seen and judged of course.
What I never expected was for it to become a tool for ex boyfriends to stalk my life. Currently three are even still subscribed via email, on a list I monitor weekly.
Others have outright admitted they read each day.
During the preliminary stages of getting to know someone, I actually use
the shortened version of my name (Gina) and if we have any type of
email communication, I write from one not linked to my blog.
I have previously had men tell me they “found” my blog and then during
our date they recall something I wrote about months, even years ago.
No bueno hombre.
On that note I am not deciding to shutout all personal aspects of my life
from my blog – I guess just monitor how much I really share.
Nothing is more creepy than a text from an ex telling you that you
look exceptional in your OOTD (outfit of the day) post.
Would I like to cut all private details out of this blog for a number
of valid reasons? Yes. Will I? No.
This blog is all about stepping outside of my comfort zone.
So… minor annoyance.
One day my children will delve into my first entry, written on a snow day
during my undergraduate studies and hopefully, smile.
What are some surprises that came along
when you began blogging?

December 29, 2012Hahaha I have neighbors that have made comments about things and I'm like, "Uh, how do you know that?"
"Uh… i read your blog…" haha Granted, I post it on facebook, but it still cracks me up.

December 29, 2012I may find that a bit creepy. I do not tell anyone except for my very immediate family. I dont know if I would want others reading my blog. I guess it is out there and if they want to find it they will. Maybe those men are just not over you. I could understand why. Have a great weekend and Happy New Year Georgina!

December 29, 2012I find it crazy just how many people we feel we have left behind in our lives are still following ours.
I think the strangest experience I had from blogging thus far was receiving e-mails from a man who I have never met before in my life {and never knew existed}, who is related to me {distantly}. π

December 29, 2012If you don't want your exe's to read your posts, then just ask us to stop. But if you write to touch other people's lives, then I think you're missing the point. You were given a gift, make the most of it. Problem solved, unsubscribing now. Good Luck

December 29, 2012Oh my gosh, what a great post. I have often wondered about this (not exes per se, but who out there is actually reading). How do you respond when your dates talk about old posts? Too funny!! But flattering too I suppose! π
Once, the security guard in my office building knocked on my office door asking for some advice, bc he knew I had a blog. I was like whattt?! !

December 29, 2012Lol that is so funny! I never really thought about the whole Ex thing, probably because I don't have any! I always find it so weird when acquaintances I have talk about something from my blog, but don't follow via ANY platform and don't even comment on fb or anything. Like I had NO idea certain people even see it. Show me some love people! At least give me a like on fb! lol.

December 29, 2012That's so creepy that an ex would send you a text like that. I've shared my blog with co-workers and for that reason I'm trying to be very careful with what information I share.

December 29, 2012that's too funny that your exes are stalking you through your blog! i've been blogging for a while but just recently started to tell my friends and colleagues about it. i was nervous that they would think it was corny but they end up loving it and are some of my most frequent readers!
it is hard though to determine what personal details you should and shouldn't share.

December 29, 2012Why would they do that, is what I want to know. It's odd that they're still reading your blog, not gonna lie. Hope people become a little more sane! xo, Maria

December 29, 2012I have had that same problem with old blogs of mine. It's good that you won't be changing how you blog because who cares what they think, they're exes for a reason.

December 30, 2012Wow. I'm surprised they have admitted to even reading your blog. The only thing I'm surprised about is that strangers read my blog to be honest :).

December 31, 2012Oh my! Weird that they admit to reading your blog! Creepy that your exes read it though! LOL! Visiting from SITS
