This post was created in collaboration with BoConcept. Though I was provided some form of compensation for my time, the following is a wholly authentic account of my experience.
Several weeks ago I was fortunate to be invited into one of the largest open concept showrooms in the country. Danish home furnishing leader BoConcept in Cambridge welcomed me for an experience that exceeded any preconceptions I had about about the design industry.
After having an in depth chat with Anthony about his personal journey with BoConcept, the history of the company that has become Denmark’s most global retail furniture brand and more, we embarked on a tour that seemed more of a journeyed experience than a standard purchasing trip.
The showroom is organized by personality; contemporary, minimalist and beyond while the team’s passion for exceptional design coupled with their mission to create modern pieces available to all levels of city-dwellers was apparent throughout the duration of my visit.
With numerous awards, notably American Express’s highest return client rate throughout all of Massachusetts, BoConcept has certainly made it’s mark here in Greater Boston on what used to be known as Furniture Row.
What BoConcept provides (beyond a surreal experience) is high quality Danish furniture sold solely through their 300 stores worldwide, fabrics from Italy, metal accessories from Poland and exclusive light fixture designs by Frandsen (with new designs being released twice a year.)
Whether you’re looking for a modern crystal chandelier and are unsure of the merits of LED vs Halogen, prefer a cascade style to deal with an uneven roof (or any other structural challenges for that matter), BoConcept has thought of everything and is at the ready to calm your color scheme conundrum.
The exceptionally well-crafted furniture has the functionality Scandinavian pieces are known for and each come in multiple finishes of white, black, walnut, and more.
What is even more impressive is when the time comes for you to create the space of your dreams, a design specialist from BoConcept will come to your home and create a custom floor plan of your space free of charge. Measured with lasers, every inch of the plan is beyond precise.
After which you are invited back into the showroom and shown which items work best for your home (and where!)
3D photos are rendered of your space, all live and logged, allowing you to move pieces to different areas of each room to find that final, perfect, fit.
I am not typically one to gush over an event or experience, but the one I had at BoConcept was quite remarkable and I left the showroom lighter, happier and very much inspired in regards to my new space.
BoConcept recently released “The Fight” featuring Mads Mikkelsen and many of their beautiful pieces. Take a look here to get more of an idea of the brand, their humor (it’s adorably Danish) and more!
I was streamed live during my time in the showroom, and you can see recap footage from my Snapchat (BostonGeorgina) now uploaded on my YouTube channel.
Thank you so much to the BoConcept team for your time, help and creative energy!
