Music is such a significant part of my life.
I began my musical career at the age of 5 with private voice lessons, quickly began to study classical piano at 6 for over eleven years, and because I never do anything halfway: picked up violin and dance beginning at 8 and 9 for over six years.
Below is a list of songs to add to your playlist while at the gym, working, getting ready for a night out and more.
At the gym
The fastest, loudest most high energy beats are bumping while I complete my morning run. To keep my energy levels high but also to prevent myself from hearing just how loud I’m breathing and tired I sound (no really, this is why.)
- Zero – Chris Brown
- Change My Mind – Avery Wilson
- Just Stay Right Here – 10digits
- Beast – Mia Martina
- Saved – Ty Dolla $ign
- Bad – Lost Kings feat. Jessame (Radio Edit)
- Pure Grinding – Avicii
While doing my makeup
I have something girly, and fun playing as blessed caffeine begins coursing through my veins.
- Hide Away – Daya
- We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off – Ella Eyre
- Dangerous Part 2 – David Guetta
- Pillowtalk – Zayn
- Be Alright – Ariana Grande (from her latest drop, soooo good.)
- Here for You – Kygo
During my commute
I’m typically reading or studying, so something with a slower pace that allows me to concentrate while still stay engaged.
- Lush Life – Zara Larsson
- Echoes (Edeemz Remix) – Lauren Aquilina
- Something New – Zendaya
- Solid – Ty Dolla $ign
- Drunk In The Morning – Lukas Graham
- Feel It – tobyMac
While writing or at work
Understandably soft, light providing a bit of inspiration but mainly for background noise and to mask any distractions.
- Things – Maggie Lindemann
- Something Sweet – Madison Beer
- Fast Car – Jonas Blue
- We Try but We Don’t Fit In – Day Wave
- Fighter Pilot – Sanders Bohlke
- All My Friends – Snakehips
When I need to be inspired
These songs provide me a lift and a little food for thought, I love Tim McGraw’s song on this list and listen to it at least once a day.
- Dreams – Life of Dillon
- Running Out – Matoma
- Where It All Begins – Hunter Hayes
- Fragile – Kygo (his latest, I love love love Kygo as I noted in this previous past)
- Music To My Soul – Cee Lo Green
- Humble And Kind – Tim McGraw
- Solid – Ty Dolla $ign
While feeling loved
Because.. there’s nothing like love and these songs take on new meaning when you’re in it.
- This Love – Jessica Sanchez
- Heaven Knows (Remix) – Tessanne Chin
- Stick Around – Akon
- Somebody To Love – Kacey Musgraves
- Only One – Kanye West
- Little More (Royalty) – Chris Brown Deluxe Version
- Make My Love Go – Jay Sean
- Hypnotized – Akon
- Lava – Kuana Torres Kahele
When preparing for a night out
Enjoyed with a glass of wine while deciding on shoes to compliment my dress, charging my phone and per usual…running late.
- In My Room – Yellow Claw
- In The Night – The Weekend
- Adventure Of A Lifetime – Coldplay
- Player – Tinashe
- All Eyes On You – Meek Mill
- Valet – Eric Bellinger
- Hello Friday – Flo Rida (this is kind of my jam right now, you can see my moves via my SnapChat, just kidding I wouldn’t punish you like that.)
- Like I Would – Zayn (another one of my high energy favorites)
What are some of your current favorite songs and when do you prefer to play them?

March 24, 2016I love music. I have been playing the piano forever but that is all that I play. Thanks so much for these play lists. I like different types of music depending on what I’m doing also but don’t think I’ve seen one broken out like this which I really appreciate. Thanks so much.

March 28, 2016Great suggestions! Some of those songs I am not familiar with. I will make sure to check them out. I think life without music would so drab. It makes life so much better!
