In New England, we spend months dreaming of Summer. Trudging through
the snow and then one day that very same season we once envisioned is upon us without warning.
While a lot of my time is spent outdoors relaxing on the beach, hiking at Blue Hills, catching a Sox game or dining on our local delicacies a la Cape,
an important aspect all three have in common is the excitement of the ride there.
Summer is the only time we can indulge in the moments we have our AC high and windows low.
Letting my fingers peek through the sunroof to feel the warm air rush by is a tiny pleasure only enjoyed when temperatures exceed 80.
Playlists are carefully crafted depending on our destination: Country Fest, sailing, a tranquil yoga class or a fun girls night out. Each song serves its purpose.
Within my group of friends, everyone has varying taste in automobiles. Some fun, some sporty and a few of us have been green for a bit commuting almost solely on our bicycles.
Most recently I have fallen in love with the fun Kia Forte.
Not usually the first to jump at the opportunity to attend a show of fireworks (sensitive ears that do not always do well with unexpected loud noises) I will never say no as the lights are always awe-inducing.
Make sure you cherish this Summer with all that you have.
Enjoy that beautiful bouquet.
Marvel at the wildlife around you.
Photograph sunsets. Print the most impressive of the bunch as a daily reminder of the season we eagerly anticipate the rest of the year.
Linger on your hammock a few extra minutes.
Dare to loosen up a bit and not care who is watching.
