Sadly, Summer has definitely come to its end here in New England (speaking of, it seems
as though we may have skipped Fall and dove straight into Winter, fab.)
Among the many things I love about Autumn, my favorite is that the typically subtle
drop in temperatures allow us more variance in what we are able to wear.

I am looking forward to the one-off updated booties, gorgeous coats with bold silhouettes (loving the robe coats), parkas that can be left unzipped and matched with breezier dresses, leather skirts in more of a midi length and tailored waistcoats!

Our silky camisoles transition effortlessly when coupled with delicate cardigans, scarves become
more form than fashion and boots! Who doesn’t love a beautiful leather boot!?
In addition to those listed above, here are a few more of my favorite Fall pieces:

Though style is incredibly important to me, I have to admit I sneak a bit of comfort in wherever I am able.
A variety of over-sized knits are always in rotation for evenings at home and weekend wear.

It does seem the more minimalist sneaker is making a comeback however. Gone is the contrast stitching, excessive hardware and hidden wedges for a more no-frills version that frankly, I am loving just as much.
I picture these with simple athletic or graphic tees with either boyfriend jeans or even a midi skirt when I feel like dressing them up a bit.

Always wishing to be creative with my ensembles; from time to time I pair particular
dresses with a slim-cut pant, a trend made popular during the mid-nineties.
Moreover; I often tuck more fitted colorful dresses into pants to wear them as a beautiful blouse.
Effectively providing me more options and allowing me to get more wear out
of pieces I would otherwise let sit neglected in my closet.
Please feel free to share your wardrobe extending tips and tricks!

Lastly, one of my favorite decades will always be the Sixties and thankfully, they are back with a vengeance this Fall.
Flirty and somewhat experimental, I have always been drawn to mini-dresses, creative iterations of shearling and fur, vintage boots and ‘do securing headbands.
I typically scour local vintage shops but also get inspiration from online retailers like Melly.
Fendi, Burberry, Marni and Etro (especially all of their cranberry and oxblood pieces) showcased this trend best (in my opinion) on the runway.

Other bits I am adding to my Fall wardrobe? Investment jewelry that I will vow to wear each day, a double-breasted blazer, leather joggers (maybe) a more relaxed jumpsuit, bucket bag, more sweater dresses and some fun, unique beanies!

September 17, 2014I've been searching for a drapey cowl neck sweater like that first one (a la that gray Helmut Lang sweater that made the rounds on Pinterest), I wish I knew where it was from!
