As with any change in season, the beauty products I use daily during Summer changes exponentially. From skincare to makeup, here are the products and tools I am loving.
Elemis Skin Brush |
I placed this brush first because it is a game changer. For women that are concerned with cellulite (who isn’t) dry brushing your skin instantly improves its appearance.
Clarins Body Tx Oil |
Following a good dry brushing must be an ultra-hydrating product. I am always experimenting with new brands but a constant on my vanity shelf is Clarins ‘Tonic’ Body Treatment Oil.
Recommended to help reverse loss of firmness during weightloss and prevent stretch marks during pregnancy, this oil does it all with 100% natural plant extracts.
Mix it with a bit of shimmer (I use MAC’s “golden bronze” all over shimmer) and apply to arms, legs and abs before heading to the beach for a flattering effect while taking care of your skin.
Susan Posnick’s ColorCorrect |
I love this power duo that does exactly what it claims. The creamy correcting pencil helps mask blemishes while the brightener is perfect to highlight your brow bone, the inner corners of the eye and under to make your eyes appear larger.
MAKE’s Soft Focus Powder Foundation |
Perfect for warm-weather coverage, this powder provides a matte almost airbrush finish while it’s consortium of vitamins work to nourish and protect your skin.
Use dry for lighter coverage or with the included sponge (or foundation brush) for days your skin requires a bit more. One third of all of MAKE’s profit got to the We See Beauty Foundation (which supports women-led cooperatives.) Beauty inside and out!

As Boston is always close to my heart, when founder and Boston-based makeup artist Joanne Ilacqua reached out to me regarding the line I was quite excited.
BostonMints is a collection of luxe glosses that contain only essential oils. Each shade is named after one of her favorite locales (the above pictured and my favorite, is “Go Sox.”) It provides the perfect amount of sheer color and healthy shine that never goes dry.
I also love to top my lip color with Mint Pops, the clear gloss.
Lastly, Joanne’s nurturing tendency extends beyond her products and relaxing services at her spa Adamo. She donates a percentage of her sales to cancer research.
Leave a comment telling me which shade you love and one of you will
receive the BostonMints of your choice in the mail!
For an extra entry, tweet me your favorite Summer beauty essential.
Find BostonMints on Twitter here.
I was provided products for review at no cost to me
however the above opinions are mine alone.
Winner will be chosen at random Thursday, July 25th. U.S. entries only.
**Congratulations Stacey! You have won the BostonMints of your choice!**
You have an email awaiting you!

July 22, 2013So a great idea for a line! While I'm a Chicago gal, I am up in Boston a few times a year to visit family & friends, so I recognize some of these names:) I really like the Rose Wharf! I'll have to let my older sister know about Boston Mints!

July 22, 2013I'm happy you were able to experience Boston Mints. I'm not entering the contest since I'm already drowning in colors, but wanted to leave a comment. On another note, I had no idea about the benefits of dry brushing skin — thanks for the tip.

July 22, 2013I'm loving the Plum Island Sand. Beautiful!! I don't have the exact brush, but something similar. I've read in many books that dry brushing is good for those with autoimmune diseases.
My go to summer product is LaRoche-Posay SPF 50 ultra light sunscreen fluid. It dries clear, matte finish, oil-free, paraben/sulfate free. Great for sensitive lupie skin!
