This post was actually inspired by a friend and reader. Her challenge, like most New Englanders, was finding a way to dress in the midst of the weeks before proper Spring begins.
The thermometer tends to yo-yo leaving fashionistas wondering if they should hang up their winter outerwear one day, or if they may get away with just a brightly hued cardigan another.
Coincidentally, WhoWhatWear recently did a feature on wearing your spring dresses now with Nicole Chavez! Readers wanted to wear their pretty frocks but due to frigid temperatures, they were at a loss on how to pull off the look.
Her answer was a simple layering technique I utilize between fall/winter. A short or long sleeved tee or turtleneck underneath your dress will suffice whether you’re experiencing a chill in the 40s or a blast of heat nearing the 70s (which we’re apparently receiving next week).
I adore the lightness of lacy or opaque tights. They lack the weight of winter tights but still guard against a slight chill while spicing up an outfit. Denni worked this perfectly during Parisian Fashion Week..
