As the holiday season is finally winding down, I have to admit my utter and absolute relief.
M had his surgery and is slowly recovering, I survived cooking my first
Christmas meal for his family and within the week, I will be moving.
Let’s talk about that Christmas dinner shall we?
Planned in a mere 10 days, I kept the menu somewhat simple.
Appetizers: caprese skewers, brie stuffed mushroom caps, a gorgeous cheese slate & olive bowl.
Entrees: Meat lasagna, a 10lb honey baked ham and roasted chicken.
Sides: Rosemary thyme potatoes, goat cheese & pear arugula salad & lemon pepper green beans.
Desserts: all ordered and brought by guests (but the cake pops were such a hit!)
Drink Station: Hot cider, Pellegrino, still Polands, Non-alcoholic Cranberry Cordial &
sodas (many of us do not drink alcohol at all or often.)
I made the lasagna two nights prior as it is tastier after the herbs have had time to sit (also a time saver!) |
The tablescape was gorgeous with a real wreath/candle centerpiece that smelled amazing and each guest took home a red box full of Ghiradelli’s peppermint bark.
It was a lot of work but so worth every second and a massive success!
M’s mother declared Christmas would be held by us every year going forward!

Santa was SO good to me this year, I could not be more grateful!
If you follow my Instagram, you saw a few of the gifts I received, in addition to those I gave M.
The most exciting gift I received was a MacBook Pro (with retina display!)
I have been playing with it constantly and working away like no one’s business!
I took two days off from work after Christmas so we just relaxed, headed into Boston for a bit of shopping, a soothing walk along the waterfront and finally a stop at renowned North End eatery: Regina Pizzeria.
After our Sunday morning ritual, we enjoyed a relaxed brunch at Burton’s.
We also caught “American Hustle” “The Wolf of Wall Street” & Anchorman 2!”
Anchorman 2 was my favorite (and hilarious!!)
What was your favorite gift this holiday season!?

Glad M is feeling better and so glad you like the new design, new year, new design and slightly new direction with the blog.

I typically plan to create a LOT and end up leaving out one or two dishes and the amount is almost perfect.
