When I received the email from Life Is Good inviting myself and a guest to Killington for the NOR’BEASTER Festival, I re-read it twice before the excitement finally sunk in.
Not only would we stay in one of Pico’s condominiums, enjoy complimentary lift tickets and have VIP admission to the official after party, but 10% of each one day lift ticket sold would go to helping kids in need.
Little did I know this would be one of the most amazing weekends of my life, that I would make friends with ladies on the slopes from varying states and that of course I would meet Bert Jacobs,
CEO (that’s Chief Executive Optimist) of Life Is Good.
I invited my blogger buddy Belen to accompany me and
after packing up we headed to the mountain late Friday evening.
We awoke to perfect conditions Saturday morning, made coffee and
pulled open the curtains to see what lay beyond our little balcony.
We were treated to some new gear before hitting the slopes while enjoying
music from Allen Stone, Assembly of Dust, Andy The Music Man and more.
I made friends with the sweetest woman from New Jersey and we ended up enjoying
run after run together, each time getting a bit bolder and bolder.
I haven’t had that much fun in quite some time. It was liberating and just made me
feel good inside in a way even the writer in me is unable to describe.
Before heading to the after party where BoomBox would be performing,
we enjoyed delicious tapas at well-known local eatery The Garlic.
Bert’s motto is to do what you like while liking what you do.
Even as his company has raised over $11 million dollars for kids in need,
he still manages to have a wonderful time while spreading the fun to others such as myself.
I feel so incredibly fortunate to have been able to enjoy such a positive and well-organized event. I cannot thank the Life Is Good team enough for this fantastic opportunity that has left me content yet doubly inspired.
Thank you to all of the wonderful people at Killington and The Wobbly Barn that were so welcoming
to us and treated us like absolute royalty. I am eternally grateful.
What has been your experience with Life Is Good?
(If you have a chance, check out this amazing video. You will not be sorry!)
