Good morning lovelies! I apologize in advance but this is going to be a completely self serving post beneficial mainly to me (or any others encountering a similar experience)!
My boyfriend and I are taking the next step and I’ve been given the chance to design my gorgeous engagement ring! This is wonderful as I’ve been browsing the likes of Harry, Cartier, Tiffany’s, Yurman and a few other jewelers but have found nothing that seems my type. The only time I found something remotely pleasing was during my time at a private antique showing. The jewelry was beautiful, flawlessly ornate and intricately crafted vintage.
Faced with this creative and once in a lifetime challenge, I am realizing all the elements I need to make careful decisions about. Metal type (platinum of course), diamond cut (I favor ascher, cushion and emerald) diamond design/setting (eg: channel set, solitaire or pave), color, clarity and carat count are all things I have to take into consideration.
I’ve begun the task of educating myself thoroughly using Adiamor‘s 3-step program to building your engagement ring, Blue Nile‘s Diamond Education and my trusty go-to TheKnot.
I am thrilled to begin what will be a lengthy consideration, any helpful hints are welcomed and I’ll keep you all updated!
