Summer months can be a bit tricky on your hair with heat, humidity
and sun exposure wreaking havoc on each delicate cuticle.
and sun exposure wreaking havoc on each delicate cuticle.
Growing up as a woman of color in a predominantly Caucasian town and school, I was often aware of the outward difference between myself and my classmates. My hair being one of the most glaring.
At sleepaway camp while girls were sharing bottles of shampoo, I knew that was not an option for me as my hair requires intense hydration.
So when companies expand their horizons, whether it be a cosmetics brand creating a wider variety of shades for women of all ethnic backgrounds or in this case, hair care – I am always encouraged and excited to test them out.
Pantene sent me their recently released line of Pro-V Truly Relaxed products for African American women with chemically relaxed hair. Each are formulated to provide gentle cleansing to protect our unique hair type from breakage.
After using the products for several weeks (heavily favoring the Oil Creme Moisturizer that has Coconut and Jojoba Oil for daily styling) my hair continues to maintain a healthy sheen.
Pantene also offers a line Truly Natural products for women of color that embrace their natural hair texture, also preventing the stripping away of natural moisture.
What daily hair woes do you battle with?

June 17, 2013I've always been skeptical to try any Pantene products because I've heard they're pretty much all the same product in different bottles. I'm so glad you've made this post .. maybe I will actually try it out
