I’ve attempted to make this post several times not on my laptop,
nor my iPad. For the past three days I have been confined to one of
Boston’s most prestigous hospitals.

A bit ironic that I was admitted the same day I finally open up about
my illness no? Not to worry – I will be fine, better than fine!

While here, I am taking the time to read, write, research, and
document my time (always the writer, there is always a story!)

I’m even taking lots of photos (hospital haute couture?) All of my
nurses and doctors know about my blog and freelance career. All
genuinely seemed intrigued.

One nurse even went as far to show me a sample of the old hospital
gown so that I could compare it to the new design (photos to come).

My first day here I met a nursing student name Caitlin. Being young
and sick, sometimes you feel cheated. I’m 26, I should be frolicing on
the beach without a care this summer no?

Caitlin was a beacon of strength and cheer during my first 24 hours
and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you Caitlin.

I have a great deal to share with you when I finally return home after
my small surgery tomorrow (I have to admit I’m a bit nervous).
my small surgery tomorrow (I have to admit I’m a bit nervous).
The most important thing to take away from this is to never lose hope,
no matter your surroundings, if you are able to keep reaching for that
which fulfills you. It will get you through some of your darkest
moments.

July 1, 2012I know how you feel hun, when I'm having a bad day & I'm in allot of pain I feel like, why me?!
Like you, I'm only 26 and my disease makes it so that I can't do certain things I should be doing with my daughter or friends. You just have to keep thinking positively & work through it x π

July 1, 2012In the Western Cape, South Africa, where I am, we see tonnes of SLE cases. It's quite prevalent here, so I've seen some of the mild cases and some of the hectic cases too. I'm glad your hospital stay went smoothly! Keep well, keep on, keep strong!
Thanks for being inspiring.
