About 6 months ago I decided to begin the habit of enhancing my evening Kindle reading with morning Audible books on personal and professional development.
While my evening books were all fiction and easy reads that helped lull me to sleep, the words I listened to each morning at the tail-end of my workouts and while dressing for the day inspired me to adopt new habits and participate more fully in some much needed self-reflection.
Below is a list of enjoyable beach reads that also help foster personal development and empathy during our final month of summer. Lets head into the fall season feeling inspired and renewed shall we?
More Than Enough by Elaine Welteroth
Elaine’s recently released account of her meteorite career ascent is both inspiring and eye-opening.
From the obstacles and oppression she experienced in high school, to her socially conscious leadership at Teen Vogue – this book will make you laugh, cry, and highlight and save all of the powerful one-liners that are oh-so relevant to your own life.
The Idea of You by Robinne Lee
This novel captures all of the juiciness you want while poolside; fame, fortune, romance, and more — all played out by a French art gallery owner living in LA.
From a dalliance with a world-renowned rock star, to impeccable attire, Robinne Lee truly provides us the cannot-put-down book of the summer!
I’m Fine and Neither Are You by Camille Pagan
In a familiar plot of the breadwinner who seems to have it all but is barely keeping it together, Camille Pagan provides us two perspectives between friends that make readers realize all is truly never as it seems.
Some romance, poignant paragraphs, and difficult scenarios within the bounds of friendship, I’m Fine and Neither Are You is a realistic and heartfelt novel that will keep you engaged.
What are you reading this summer that’s keeping you entertained?
