A first impression is typically the strongest one and it is pretty hard to
change it thereafter.
You can only add something to someones opinion of you,
or remove bits and pieces but never
change it entirely.
Of course that crosses over to dating. Especially the clothes you
are wear on a first date.
You can ruin (throw off) the entire experience if you feel you have dressed
inappropriately.
To help you out a little bit in these labyrinths of dating and fashion,
below are some tips on how NOT to dress on a first date.
It will help
you understand the biggest mistake you might make and how to avoid it like a pro!
After
that, every date will be a celebration of your beauty and all firsts’
impressions a great deal less stressful!
Wearing something not so special. The very first date is kind of an important occasion.
Especially if the guy you
are planning to meet is intelligent, sweet, handsome, and you intent to see him again in the near future.
One of the biggest mistakes you can make on the first date is actually
being under-dressed. For instance, if you have been wearing the same pair of boyfriend jeans
for most of the week, it may be best to put them away for a date.
If it’s at night and time allows after work, then throw on some fresh clothes as they
create a more special
vibe that separates you from your work life and social life.
Another caveat; don’t overdress and leave your formal dresses at home
(I never like to look as though I’m trying too hard.)
To strike the perfect match? A casual little black dress and a nice pair of shoes always does the trick.
Comfortable, appropriate for any occasion, and you will definitely
look nice
and can personalize using your favorite accessories.
Wearing something that shows too much. Of course, on an occasion like a date, you want to look sexy and beautiful.
But many style experts say that you should better play it safe and dress a
little bit more conservative.
This is secondly important as you don’t know the guy very
well
and you don’t know his values or personal beliefs
(though I am staunch on always being myself, just the least offensive version of myself.)
If you want to show off some curves and/or skin, choosing just one is always a safe bet.
It is either legs, cleavage, shoulder, or
back.
Pick only one that you think is the best of yours and show it!
Anything
more and you run the risk of being mistakenly viewed as trashy,
too sexy or some other silly misconception.
As always, it is all up to you!
Wearing something that is just not your style. Never let the guys style dictate what you wear. Just because he may have tattoos and be sporting a man bun, be yourself.
You’re always most comfortable when you’re being authentic and others
can tell (love interest, work prospects, friends and family.)
If this guy has asked you on a date that means that he already likes
the way you dress and he likes you
the way you look.
So moral of the story, it would be a big mistake (and potentially a bit confusing)
should you change your entire style for him. Stay true to yourself.
Don’t sacrifice your personal taste and just dress however
suits your personality and style.
Bottom line, it’s you he likes, not your closet.
So these are some of the mistakes every girl has considered
and potentially made (we’re all human after all.)
