Some of you that have been around these parts for some time remember my quirky series regaling my experiences navigating the dating scene, or “The Dating Diaries.”
Secretly I have been penning a new series with a different twist based on my experiences within the single girl’s world that cause me to stop, reflect and share in hopes of providing clarity for others.

I feel fortunate enough to see the larger picture, that the end of
a relationship is not just an ending but the most beautiful of beginnings.
How true it has become that people enter your life for an exact purpose and
each day I see moments that demonstrate the reasons they did.

Many women feel anxious and increasingly self-conscious at the conclusion
of a relationship (justifiably so, there is nothing wrong with that.)
They wonder if anyone will treat them the same, but I say, hopefully not. What they previously experienced did not work, it is important to be open to something new, foreign and a bit exciting.
Intimidated by entering the dating scene once again, nights out are far more competitive that we remember, girls being quite cliquey and guys showing the same unnecessary
(and most of the time unwarranted) smugness.

Listen up ladies. Even the most beautiful woman goes through this phase and has thoughts identical to yours racing through her mind. You will get on with your life and it will be a beautiful one. Of that I am sure.

One day you will look around and the sun will be a bit brighter, the clouds a little less threatening.
You will love again and it will be heavenly. Do not give up hope.
Lastly, if you are in the Greater Boston area, myself and a wonderful group of
men and women will be participating in the Project Smile Date Auction tomorrow evening.
Project Smile is a non profit organization dedicated to helping children who are victims of traumatic events.
Project Smile donates stuffed animals, books and coloring supplies to police and fire departments, the Department of Children & Family Services and homeless shelters.
Many of the children who receive Project Smile’s items were involved in car accidents,
are victims of abuse or other crimes, witnesses to domestic violence, sick/injured,
coping with the loss of a loved one, entering foster care or living in a shelter.
It will be a wonderful evening for a worthy cause and as daunting as it may be to know I have to walk on stage by myself in front of hundreds hoping someone will bid to date me;
keeping the bigger, more important picture in mind, the children, makes it 200% worth the potential embarrassment.
