I don’t know about you, but this blah Boston weather has me on the hunt for travel deals for my next (sooner rather than later) trip.
Are you planning on taking a trip to Costa Rica, but you have no idea which of the exciting activities to partake in?
It certainly is hard to whittle it down to just a few choices when there are so many exotic forests, beaches, jungles and hiking trails to choose from – and all of them so beautiful too.
No matter if you are going planning to volunteer in Costa Rica, or you are only looking to explore the area, you should be able to find the time to tick some of the following activity suggestions off your list:
Go Horseback Riding
Horse riding is one of the most popular activities in Costa Rica, and it is hardly surprising because there are so many beautiful locations to explore from horseback that it is a no-brainer to give it a go and explore the local scenery in style.
Enjoy a Sunset Cruise
If you prefer to see the sights in a more relaxing manner, you absolutely must book yourself onto a Costa Rican sunset cruise, preferably in the Guanacaste area, where you will be able to explore the sights and sounds of the Pacific coast in style.
Scuba Diving
If you’re a particularly adventurous sort, you will probably get a kick out of scuba diving in the crisp, clear waters of Guanacaste or Bat Islands, where you will get a glimpse into the unique underwater world of Costa Rica, which is brimming with exotic fish of every type imaginable.
Go Abseiling Down a Waterfall
The thrill seeker in you will also revel in the opportunity to go abseiling down waterfalls, which are as high as 200 feet!
This activity, which is also known as rappelling, will get your blood pumping and your adrenaline flowing, and you’ll never feel more alive.
See Sloths at Manuel Antonio National Park
If you’re an animal lover, you’ll probably agree that sloths are amongst the cutest of all animals in the planet, and if you take a trip to Manuel Antonio National Park, you will be able to watch them play.
You’ll also be able to see other animals including amusing monkeys, toucans, and sloths, for as long as you like.
Go Golfing
In recent years, Costa Rica has put a lot of effort into developing its golfing facilities.
As a result, it is now home to a number of internationally recognized golf courses, many of which can be accessed with a one-day pass if you don’t happen to be staying at a resort with its own golfing facilities.
Try Copo for the First Time
It’s fair to say that there is an abundance of fantastic food in Costa Rica, but one thing that you absolutely must try is the copo.
This Costa Rican treat, which is made from shaved ice, condensed milk, and Kola syrup and which is perfect for helping you adjust to the extreme temperature changes between the high altitude parks and the hot beaches of Costa Rica.
Hopefully, you’ve found some inspiration from the activities above, but don’t let that be all you do in Costa Rica.
There is so much to explore that, with a bit of effort, you’re sure to find some great things to do that didn’t make the list!
