Spain is within the top five countries I am looking forward to visiting in the next two years.
The culture and the language are so beautiful. Out of Spain has come so many wonderful things in life too! I’ve been a big fan of Spanish literature, Spanish movies, food and wine of course for some time.
I love how the passion that is clearly articulated (palpable without one even having
knowledge of the Spanish language) in movies, books and on televisions.
‘Welcome Mr. Marshall’ was one of those films in the early 1950s that left a lot of people with their
mouths agape. Mainly due to the honesty in the mistakes made by the characters that allowed viewers an insider look seemingly unavailable at the time.
For others, seeing the rural beauty displayed so plainly during the movie is one of the
causes for their wanderlust to see more of Spain.
‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ is one of those movies where the action in the background can be a bit of a distraction. Beautiful Barcelona is a city I would love to spend quality time in, mainly in part to this Hollywood blockbuster being shot there.
For some great shots of the more rugged Spanish countryside,
also have a look at ‘Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade’.
‘Don Quixote’ is a must-read novel if you want to get a feel for some of the passion and fire of Spain.
Though it was written four hundred years ago, it is still regarded as one of the best literary accomplishments of all time.
It is a romantic and epic tale set in the heart of Spain and its people.
It may be on the dreamier side, but it still paints a beautiful picture of the country.
Hollywood has been fortunate to have adopted several gorgeous Spanish-born actors too. P
enelope Cruz was born in Madrid, and Antonio Banderas is from Andalusia.
Many famous people from outside of Spain have homes there too.
The British cook Nigella Lawson has one near well-known actor Michael Douglas in Javea.
Buying a house in Spain for some is the ultimate dream.
Spontaneous trips whenever you fancy (or if you’re having a craving for paella or authentic Tempranillo!)
Companies like RDT Abogados that offer help and advice on buying a property in Spain.
There are so many different kinds of home to buy in Spain and so many beautiful regions to choose from.
A luxury Spanish villa would be perfect; air conditioning, a pool and a spectacular roof terrace all sound incredible.
The weather is decent for most of the year wherever you are,
but you can find some areas that will see snow in the winter.
There are mountainous regions as well that could be snow-covered all year round.
The opportunities for some stunning photography are endless.
I think I would prefer to be a great deal closer to the Spanish cities like Barcelona.
The nightlife is said to be fantastic, and the food is incredible (tapas, tapas, tapas!)
I love that the culture is so vibrant and that the arts are so important to the people in Spain.
Last but certainly not least; the shopping.
It would be the ultimate to for gorgeous authentic clothing, art and decor!
Being right on the coast has its advantages for beach lovers.
If Spain is on your must-see-locations, what would you do with your vacation time?
What countries are on your travel bucket list?
