Having a meaningful wedding day is what every bride and groom wants. There are many things you can do to make sure yours is as meaningful as possible, and as I think about my sister’s big day – there is no detail I want to overlook.
Do Think Outside of the Box.
Thinking outside of the box is key for your wedding day. You want to make it personal to you, as that’s what will make it memorable.
You can personalize as many things as possible, including the table names (I love seasonal themes, or anything with a story behind it about the bride and groom) and of course the playlist.
Brainstorm different things you can do to make this wedding completely your own, an intersection of you both.
Do Outline Wedding Traditions in Your Program.
If you and your husband have slightly different wedding traditions to your guests, you could outline the traditions in your program. This will ensure everybody understands and enjoys it as you do.
Do Carefully Create Your Guest List and Wedding Parties.
Carefully put together your guest list and wedding parties to make sure you have the right people around you on your big day. Why invite people who aren’t important to you.
It isn’t about having the biggest wedding, but the most meaningful wedding. You’ll need to come up with your lists before looking at invitation templates and other elements like the seating chart.
Don’t Try to Do Everything Alone.
Your friends and family really want to help you, so don’t try to do everything alone. Accept their offers of help. Trying to do everything alone might be fine at first, but later on you’ll more than likely run out of steam.
Don’t Feel Pressured to Make Everything Yourself
Many brides make the decor, invitations, place settings, and plenty of other things themselves. Don’t feel pressured to make everything yourself.
You don’t need to make anything unless you really enjoy it and want to do it. You should be able to find a way to obtain whatever it is you need within your budget with proper planning (and help!)
Don’t Forget About Your Husband to Be
Don’t forget about your husband to be – he should have a say in your big day too. If it’s going to be meaningful to you both, he should have a say in it too.
Ask him if there’s anything he’d particularly like on the day, or if there’s anything he cares about. Hopefully, there will be a few things he’s enthusiastic about!
Don’t Go Over Your Budget.
Going over your budget for just one day is a bad idea. Find a way to make everything fit. Weddings can be ridiculously expensive, but you don’t want to go into debt before heading into wedded bliss. Be smart and keep a clear head of what is truly important and what you can do without!
Set a budget and stick to it. Before making anything official, make sure you have enough budget allocated to it. Download apps to help you keep track of your finances if needed.
Hopefully you enjoyed these little dos and don’ts of a meaningful wedding day. There are plenty of other tips and tricks.
