Wednesday was previously “Workout Wednesday” but as I focus on much more than my workouts, I decided to broaden the topic to incorporate all that I cover.
My diet consists mainly of raw fruits and vegetables, lean protein and though
I do favor Chobanis, pretty limited dairy.
My meal on the left, raw vegetables with a bit of balsamic vinegar (no sodium) and
two apple chicken sausage. M’s on the right. I had a piece of his Delmonico of course.
It’s funny how I am on a constant quest to tone up just a bit more and drop a pound or two while the Mister can almost never eat enough protein and is constantly wanting to gain.
I mean, look at those biceps!?
How is that fair?
Even dining out we typically eat as clean as we are able however if
we wish, we almost always indulge in dessert.
Breakast:
Hers: A standard breakfast is usually a green smoothie, potentially a small portion of oatmeal also depending on how hard I am training as my metabolism skyrockets.
If no oatmeal, a mid-morning snack is a must to keep my metabolism revving.
His: Oatmeal, a Chobani and a banana.
Hers: Lunch for me is typically a salad of some sort with a delicious vegetable burger.
I love Dr. Praeger’s new Asian Veggie Burger.
This brand is typically pretty low in sodium, a problem I find with a lot of others.
His: A protein shake post workout plus a lean protein like grilled chicken and potato.
Dinner we both leave fairly open depending on our moods.
His is always more caloric and protein laden however.

October 30, 2013it isn't fair at all … not one bit!
Sean and I eat pretty much the same things. Except I love seafood and he hates it … and he loves pork and I hate it … besides that he eats whatever I cook.
I try to mix it up a lot … i do meatless meals, meat meals, poultry meals … veggies, etc. at the end of the day i just eat whatever i want to at the time. i know when i should limit myself as well so that helps a bit.

October 31, 2013It's almost the opposite, I eat whatever Matt makes haha! I finally made him the first meal (ever since we started dating) this past weekend, I know – I'm embarrassed. But he's a really good cook and likes to do it for me because he can.
I like having meatless meals too (and pretty much eat what I want) – it helps that I crave healthy/raw foods a lot π

the format to your blog. Is that this a paid subject matter or did you customize it yourself?

October 31, 2013Oh, I can't stand boys for their ability to eat anything and everything. Nevertheless, I do feel better when I eat healthy – but I wouldn't mind a nibble of dessert without having to feel guilty. :/

Megan Stylish + Scatterbrained
October 31, 2013The hubs and I have pretty different eating habits too! I'm not a vegetarian anymore, so that helps a bit, but I am gluten free and he's not…luck guy! He is trying to lose weight as well, so I think that by cutting out gluten from my meals (and a majority of his) has helped us both eat cleaner and kick-started his weight loss.
Thank you for sharing what you're up to! It's inspiring to see how other people are living healthier and balancing it all:)

October 31, 2013Of course Megan! Are you gluten-free due to allergy or by choice? I have toyed with the idea of trying it to see how my body reacts (for the better.)

October 31, 2013My husband and I have pretty similar eating habits. We like the same foods and eat the same things, which is good since it makes for preparing meals a lot easier. Although he is a bit more of a dessert person than I am… but now that I have a baby on board, I have a bit more of an appetite for those sweets!

October 31, 2013M is definitely much more of a dessert person than me, I would not eat nearly as many sweets (or at least have an excuse to) if not for his sweet tooth π

November 3, 2013Sorry I'm reading this so late! I'm ashamed to say Steve and I have terrible eating habits. In less than 12 months I put on almost 50 pounds from prednisone, and it is not coming off. My only saving grace is my endocrinologist says until I come off the prednisone, the weight isnt going anywhere whether I eat carrot sticks or Oreo's. But, I realize it's healthier to eat 1,500 calories in carrots than Oreo's! I've been trying to be more concious of what I cook for us, but it's terribly difficult! Also, it doesn't matter if I make fish with veggies or a 4 heese pizza, Steve never seems to gain an ounce. Jerk.

November 4, 2013one of my favorite quotes!
it's a scary thought that everything you do now will have an effect on your future life.
scary but it's good to be reminded.
