Ideas for my blog come to me at the most inconvenient of times, mainly when I’m driving.
For these times I jot two words down as a reminder and “flesh” out the bare bones later (metaphor used by one of my high school English teachers).
My great love in life first and foremost is writing, after that, reading. My words have proved themselves useful in a variety of situations.
Quickly turning a somewhat sour situation with a police officer: “I know you’re just doing your job, and I appreciate it” into a surprisingly sweet one.
Whatever the words used, I keep them genuine and for that reason, I feel I have become somewhat of a go-to-girl.
A friend wants a sure-to-be disappointing opinion on a situation? Cue the ding to my bbm.
A coworker contemplating the best place to get a martini nearby? She stops by my desk.
Resume critique? Trend update? Product review? I’ve become a Jacqueline of all trades and I love it.
This previous week my friend needed help filming her audition tape for a well-known Reality Television show. The process in helping her create something fun, witty and personal was priceless (she is the fourth pictured, only female on the ice of course).
Last weekend I attended a dinner party hosted by a friend and local socialite. The guest list included a much sought after wardrobe stylist, an NFL athlete and his wonderfully authentic girlfriend.
As I sat at the gorgeous antique dining room table delicately dabbing the corner of my mouth with a monogrammed napkin, I thought to myself – is this my real life?
It has been quite obvious that people have come into my life for a reason, reasons I am still discovering. Each opportunity is a chance to learn and grow.
Something my beloved P has taught me, is there is an opportunity to learn from each and every person you encounter each day.
No matter how much or how little they may have, or whether they have a PhD following their name or never attended college.
I try to keep that in mind each and every day.
Make it a good one.
XOXO

March 18, 2012Nice blog. As a lover of words you might be interested in the word play involved in cryptic crosswords. I am doing a series of posts on solving cryptic clues. This was the first one I did. http://caroleschatter.blogspot.co.nz/2012/01/cryptic-crosswords-solving-hints-1.html Hope you enjoy.
